the effects of the PLA VR training will look like something similar from this NYPD training using oculus rift cv1 goggles, they can see each other thus not bumping into each other
Cool. Still looks scary. Guess it could get better over time.I remember they've showcased such VR training kit as late as last year.
There are sensors mounted at the ceiling, paired with the wearable kits.
↑ 23:37 Cannon launch. This is interesting. I don't know where to put it but here. The images show an electromagnetic gun designed to launch firefighting munitions to put out forest fires.
As it involves no gunpowder that means it nullify the risk of starting secondary fire. Not to mention railgun technology means the range can be easily dialed in. I can see the potential for such equipment.↑ 23:37 Cannon launch.
The video mentions that this electromagnetic cannon is in the testing phase, but the fire chief hinted in the interview that this seems to be a new toy for firefighting.
At this point system's biggest hurdle is the power supply, just look at the room it occupies. So once the power supply is miniaturized, the said system can then be make to replace those vehicular launch system; foot mobiles will still need chemical-based launchers. Not to mention plenty of China's potential conflict zones are inaccessible by ground vehicles.Basically an EM mortar system. Quite interesting. Makes you guess the potential military applications of that and remember the things Ma Weiming said about his proposed "Omni-Launcher" that should equip all of the PLA and replace chemical propellants...
