Defense cooperation with other states seems to be the right thread to post about Chinese – Belarus military cooperation (I did not find a separate thread for this). Attached one can see Chinese officers at the 7th international defense technology expo MILEX 2014 that takes place in Minsk on 9-12 July this year which means right now. Pics Belta news agency as the bar at the bottom clearly shows.

Chinese air force planes arrive in Russia for Aviadarts-2014 & Chinese Air Force attends 'Aviadarts-2014' international pilot competition

With the approval of China's Central Military Commission, the Air Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAAF) sent an aviation detachment and three Su-30 planes on July 20 to attend the "Aviadarts-2014" international pilot competition to be held in Russia, according to Colonel Shen Jinke, spokesman of the PLA Air Force.

Too much said and shown to translate all but:

1. The prises were cars and bikes

2. The first place was wont by RuAF pilot Georgiy Dedio

3. The PLAAF participation is shown about 1 : 50 – 2 : 05. If I understand correctly one of the Chinese Flankers suffered a birdstrike but fortunately without serious damage. The Chinese missed one of their targets but still did well – see 4

4. The PLAAF pilot Wan Zhen (not 100% sure – this is how it sounded phonetically in the clip) was second, you can see him and the Chinese team posing with a car they won at 3 : 14

5. During the competition a forest fire broke out and one could see Il 76 ‘water bombers’ in action.

6. It is interesting to note that decommissioned L 39 trainers were used as targets.

Military pilots of the 116th guards attack aviation base of the air and anti-aircraft defense forces of the Republic of Belarus finish second at the international aviation competition Aviadarts 2014 that was held in Russia.

The Belarusian team (three Su-25 crews) was behind the winner just eight points in the final.

The competitions that included aerial navigation and target reconnaissance also featured transport aviation, fighters and helicopters. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu put forward an initiative to hold such competitions in 2013. Partaking in Aviadarts 2014 were pilots from Belarus, China and Russia.

Let me add, that the above is not mutually exclusive with PLAAF being second because the competition was held in several categories fighters, grind attack aircraft, helicopters etc. as mentioned in my previous post a Chinese pilot was second in fighters while the PLAAF did not send ground attack aircraft or helicopter teams.

In China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, troops from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and China have assembled and prepared for the Peace Mission-2014 drill.

Four Russian military jets and two transport aircraft, along with more than 100 soldiers, arrived at the Zhu-ri-he Airport this morning. Russia is sending 900 troops and 100 pieces of weaponry. All 2200 foreign troops have arrived. The six-day drill will start at the Zhu-ri-he training base next Sunday and will mobilize more than 7,000 soldiers from the five countries.

The drill is one of the joint anti-terrorism exercises launched under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization framework. Uzbekistan is the only SCO member not participating.

More on Peace Mission 2014

The fighter planes of Chinese Air Force participate in training for "Peace Mission-2014", a joint anti-terrorism drill, in north China on Aug. 20, 2014. Chinese Air Force will send 23 fighter planes in seven types including F-10, F-11, FB-7, KJ-200 and paratroopers vehicles to participate in the drill.

The source for the above is People’s Daily Online for some reason I could not link it but type into a search engine the phrase Chinese Air Force participate in training for Peace Mission-2014 and you will get there the bonus being a nice gallery of PLAAF aircraft

Let me add that I like the grey finish of PLAAF aircraft – it gives them a „we mean bussines” look.

Some of the things I consider to be of note:

The drill lasted 6 days involving 5000+ troops form 5 countries.

The drill took place on the Zhurihe training base in North China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The drill starts with ground and aerial reconnaissance of terrorist forces on a highland.

Having pinpointed the terrorists’ position, joint military forces carry out strikes with precision guided weapons.

Strikes and reinforcements also come from above – use of aircraft, helicopter, notably combat (armed) UAVs, aerial drops were also conducted.

An important part of the drill were urban anti-terror operations. Special forces from five parties carry out hostage rescue in a simulated city area.

It is interesting to note that for the first time, 30 Chinese female special ops have taken part in the anti-terror operation.

There also appeared to be a high level of cooperation and good tactical info sharing among the participating militaries.
