SPAAGs are equipped to AD Battalions under the CABde, three batteries 18 platforms total, plus one battery of SPSAM, one battery of MANPAD.Dozens of such vehicle per AD brigade? If for example 36, then basically every battalion in every combined arms brigade will have access to one such land based ciws platform? With a few more leftovers.
Sorry my mistake, I didn't read the article. It's indeed an AD brigade located just north of Huai'an city. Not sure how these platforms will be used yet.So these new platforms seem to be replacing those towed 35mm guns, no? Article was quite clear saying they are part of a AD brigade. Though it did also say that in another group army they were handed over to a CAB directly. As some CABs were known to still operate towed pg99, it's perhaps possible these new platforms are meant to be universal replacements for pg99s. Not sure how 25mm will completely replace 35mm in all its missions, though.
trueIs it true that the new 625 SPAAG is based on a MV3 truck chassis? Can someone please confirm this?
