Some more cryptic illustrations seem to suggest that a new engine (WS-15 presumably, given the saw-tooth nozzle edges and TVC in the illustration) has undergone testing aboard a J-10.

But these two things might not be related in the first place, so as usual, wait and see.

And we haven't heard much solid about the naval 5th generation fighter either (whether its F-31 v3 or a J-20 derivative), and JH-XX seems even more dubious.


Atm I don't think anyone else is making any noise about any big movements yet, and I'm not sure what to make of angadow's track record for predicting big events should be judged as.

H-20 prototype allegedly rolled off the assembly line in June 2017. A roll-out isn't something that should come as a surprise at this point.

Which appears to imply that WS-15 with thrust-vectoring nozzle has been tested on J-10B/C.

More likely a WS-10X ... IMO we will see the H-20 even before the WS-15.

The nozzle seems to be drawn with TVC, so if it’s a WS-10X it may be a TVC version. That said, if I *had* to come up with something comparable to the first J-20 in the noise it generated the WS-15 and the H-20 seem to be the only two that fit.
