AIM Altitude is AVIC’s first purchase of a U.K. aerospace company, but not its first purchase in the West. In the last twenty years, AVIC has purchased half a dozen economically distressed U.S. and international aerospace companies. Some of these technologies are export-controlled, and U.S. law strictly forbids their transfer to foreign entities. The law applies even when those foreign entities own or control the export-controlled U.S. entities in possession of the export-controlled technologies.

However, there are easy technical means for foreign owners that want to access export-controlled technologies in U.S. companies they control. “Our arms exports and technology control policies need a root-and-branch review, said Dr. Patrick Cronin in an email. Dr. Cronin is Senior Advisor at the Center for a New American Security in Washington, D.C. “ We are preventing good-enough technology from being easily exported to allies and partners, but we are at risk of losing control over leading-edge technologies.”

many of the comments to the article are hilarious like that the Chinese would still be using bows and arrows if someone hadn't provided them with gun powder .....
It is really an article about technology for people who don't really understand the concept.

It's possibly the same truck (or at least the same type) that carried the prototype J-31. This new bird appears to be longer than the J-31 prototype.

Well, whatever this is, we know it's twin-engined. Given the section before the wings is so long, I kind of expect this to have canards because the main wings appears to be so very behind the center of gravity...

Of course, I'm assuming the tarpaulin gives an accurate outline of the bird...

On second thought, this new bird is NOT longer than the J-31 prototype, assuming both were carried by the same (model of) truck, because the nose on both do not extend beyond the last axel of the transport.

Also, notice one of the orange pillars penetrates the tarpaulin cover on the new bird, this means the main wings are contained between the two main (orange) pillars, which is also the case with the J-31 prototype from before.

So my previous comment about this new bird possibly having canards is mistaken.

Therefore, this new bird is likely a new J-31 prototype!
