A bit more than "rumours" as it came from the official Government of Pakistan Twitter account lol
While it is not clear whether Erieeye can provide midcourse guidance to PL-15, a recent interview with a PLAAF J-10C pilot confirmed that KJ-500 definitely can. Things are gonna get spicy in South Asia.
At what band does the KJ-500 radar operate? If S-band, then midcourse guidance/update is definitely doable.

I was surprised that they'd announce such a thing. I suppose Pakistani politicians need it for achievements, but this is not how things work with China. Imo a post fait accompli type announcement would be much more preferable for China.
Nope, S/L equally, and the major fleets are still in S band. Big previous gen were more often than not S, L (and below) appears either in smaller aircraft (to get reasonable range from lesser available power), or now specifically to counter VLO.
