I suppose this serves as the visual confirmation that the dual-array rotodome is being used on the KJ-700, instead of the triangular-array radome being used on the KJ-500/A.
Here's wondering if the KJ-500/A units will be upgraded to KJ-700 standards by swapping the triangular-array roadome with the dual-array rotodome in the future, plus other associated changes...

its possible but there is a lot of KJ-500 AWACS in operation probably over 50 units
I doubt they would refit them all of them and KJ-700 is probably the next generation of AWACS in line with technological advances used in KJ-600 and KJ-3000 AWACS
KJ-500 units with IFR and other upgrades would still make it a good workhorse for AWACS fleet event without radar replacement
after all they never replaced the radar's on the old 4 x KJ-2000 and 11 x KJ-200 balance beam did they ? although KJ-200 did get significant upgrades later
