On the one hand, Shaanxi AC has never produced a turbofan-powered aircraft before, so it's going to be a large undertaking for them (should this rumored/claimed project become a reality). In addition, it should be noted that the KJ-20/3000 is produced by Xi'an AC despite being a special mission aircraft.

On the other hand, if Shaanxi AC can relieve the workload of Xi'an AC (as they're already getting their hands full with the Y-20B, MA60/600/700, the upcoming H-20, and the upcoming Sino-C-5) by taking over the production of this rumored/claimed common platform aircraft, then it's certainly a good thing.
Might make more sense to move MA700 production to Shaanxi AC. Not sure now big a deal it is to make turbofan vs turboprop powered aircraft though.

Though I do personally doubt the potential market for MA700, while there is *some* domestic need, there really isn't much especially as most of the budget airlines has been going bust or transitioning to larger aircraft from these turboprop commuters. There is a good amount of foreign demand though actually exporting it is going to be a major issue due to certification headaches.

I doubt XAC will dedicate too much floorspace for that project IMO.

Now it's getting more and more confusing ... after the KJ-200 and KJ-500 with their respective naval subtypes and slightly improved upgraded variants, the still very secretive KJ-700 appeared and now there is yet another AEW variant (maybe called High New 19 / GX-19 ?). Again it is a multi-mission ISR-type combining the typical AEW dish but also some additional side-looking ESM arrays.

Very strange, compared to a KJ-500, the radar seems to be installed facing the wrong way. Now one of the arrays directly points into the vertical tail which is a very strange design choice to make.

Maybe it's exactly as based on kj-500 experience?

For example, this way you can just cut out a sector of the rear array electronically, and skip fighting annoying reflections from the tail.

More important forward arrays will only require comparatively minor harmonization effort.

Here for better comparison ... but still no clue why or could it be a hint of being faked?
