Or it could be a retractable fairing housing a high-powered airborne laser or maybe even a photonic radar. No, wait, it could be a quantum radar. That must be it! I think it also doubles as a sprinkler to clean the radome.

does the Y9 get built as the basic air frame and then get modified or does it get the modification during build ?

Check those combinations they are now pumping at high speed these Y9 units

I also come to the conclusion that the units are not modified afterwards but rather built up from scratch for the particular aircraft

the orders must come in and then each specific specialty aircraft is then built according to its specs

before I thought the basic Y9 frames were modified but I don’t think that is the case now
