Even if not exactly an AWACS type ... an EW anyone !

After a first image of this new version was posted at the CDF a few months ago in April ... now here's the first clear image of the Y-8GX-11 ELINT version.

Great to see here's a larger version of the same and this is a new type of aircraft we have not seen before

Front nose and side front and back large fairings

There is two other Y-8/9 variants in this picture one to the left and one to the right the one on the right looks like a Y-9JB as seen from the rear fuselage grey fairing very interesting! Looks like Y-8/9 variants are growing very fast

It looks like that one of this new type could be found behind KJ-500 "in uniform."

Yes it is but the radar is not the same ... at least size-wise it is a bit smaller.

Yes, but that image I posted shows the two prototypes + one PAF ZDK-03 since it is from November last year and not the new PLAAF-colored KJ-500.
