What is the most accurate transliteration of the ships name? I saw Choe Hyon, Choi Hyun and Choi Yun.

Personally, i've always been dejected by the PRC and Russia taking part in enforcing the US imposed embargoes on DPRK, considering that the US is both countries' mortal enemy. If that attitude from PRC and Russia changed lately that would be welcomed. I've read that DPRK has large reserves or rare earths that are so crucial these days, so perhaps there is some mutually beneficial agreement for all involved, apart from DPRK help offered to Russia for the war against the western backed regime in Kiev.

I'm shocked & deeply impressed by these pics. How could NK, a country has never built modern large ships, build a such nice large warship so fast?

Did China give some assistance? Some parts of the ship indeed look like their Chinese counterparts.

IMO we know too little about NK. I'm getting confused by their astonishing military progress these days.

I roughly remember China's dissatisfaction with NK's nuclear tests years ago. Then we're finding NK's fast progress in conventional military field recently. Maybe China has given some conventional military tech assistance, persuading Kim to give up frequent nuclear trials or tests.
North Korea has gotten help and exchanged a lot of technology with Russia in the recent years and now formed a new defense pact with Russia. The ship even has a Pantsir-M CWIS on the rear I believe.

In the end, Kim Jong-un surprised everyone once again.
Now all that remains is to wait for the presentation of the nuclear-powered missile submarine
Wait. Isn't there another ship that's being built? Is it a second destroyer or a frigate?

In terms of DDG, NK has surpassed Russia.

The only problem is that the ship seems to lack of helicopter hangar. Related rear space was filled with VLS missiles. Those VLS cells' placement is too high, which is very strange. Looks they want to install long missiles here, such as hypersonic long-range missiles & ballistic missiles.

Also, a relatively small ship with too many VLS cells of different sizes. Some are thick, some are thin. Some are deep, some are shallow. Which brings about missiles' configuration flexibility issues.
