brain controlled wheelchair in action.
I could see something like this being very popular if it works

Just a couple of thoughts, good, skeptical, and maybe a little paranoid...
First, just wow. A non-invasive helmet over a full head of hair is truly revolutionary given the current landscape.
But then the skeptic in me shouts, "how do you know that's real and not just remote control to get VC buy-in?" I just remember past claims of "autonomous" robots from different companies that turned out to be remote controlled. Not to say I don't think this is possible, just that we should wait until the product is varified before getting overly exuberant.
Next I get a kind of dread at the prospect of non-invasive brain-wave detection and interpretation and the effects it can have on society long-term. This product, if real, just requires close proximity. But the sensing distance will grow as the detecting technology advances, and the range of interpretable signals will braoden with it. Can we look forward to companies data-harvesting our moods to serve us ads based on our inner dialogs? Will there ever be a true sense of privacy again in the world, even inside the confines of our skulls?
