I don’t think people should jump to conclusions out of nothing whatsoever. People die around the world of natural courses or sickness etc every second, doesn’t means there’s foul play. You probably hear about him simply because he’s a renowned scientist . If he was just a normal Chinese with a normal role/job and died naturally, nobody will care or even pay attention.Just going to say I'm not shocked, and we should expect many more of these in the coming years. At some point, Chinese going to study anything remotely related to AI or chips in the West is going to be literal suicide, but just with more steps. These guys are really smart, and yet too stupid to understand they're choosing to put a real target on their backs.
Yeah, impressive, China's rise in bio-tech to me has been even more spectacular than china's rise to EV dominance. Plus, biotech (and its associated industry) is a really lucrative, critical and fast growing industry as well, it's meant to grow even more valuable this coming years. So could be a new pillar industry for China. So unlike solar,PV or rcen car industry where many players could enter at will, there is not much risk of overproduction/never ending race to bottom competition here, since the barrier to entry are far higher and thus returns are more lucrative, so its a viable industry for chinese companies who commit large investments, stand out in R&D and come up with innovative drugs and strong IP. Whcih the country is doing quite well now and will only grow more in future. This is faster than I expected!
Biotech is one of the sectors, where US had a big lead over its competitors. China absolutely decimating USA lead in this critical industry now.
