I hate it when you hear some Western pharmaceutical buys a license for Chinese drugs and they get worldwide distribution rights. Are those drugs also made in China…? I hope the Chinese side gets large residuals.
They are buying the licenses to make and distribute the novelty drugs in different markets. The final products are likely not made in China. It is still better than these western big pharma companies licensing from someone else. Not to mention that it used to be the Chinese drug makers licensing from the west. And China has sizeable market shares of active pharmaceutical ingredients and raw pharmaceutical materials.

The established big pharmas have taken decades to build and maintain the channels and networks for distributing drugs worldwide. Chinese companies have a long way to be there.

Fact sheet on the growth of LNG trucks.

China is experiencing a boom in LNG-fueled heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs) driven by its expansive gas infrastructure, increasing lower-cost gas supplies, and coordinated policy incentives. Procurement reached a record high of 178,200 in 2024, a 17% increase on 2023 sales, and up 383% from a decade earlier. LNG captured 33% of HDV market sales in 2024.

Domestic liquefaction output reached 25 million tonnes (Mt) in 2024, outstripping road transport use (22Mt).

In the first quarter of 2025, the electric segment captured almost 20% of HDV sales, up from 8.1% a year ago.

keep in mind that while LNG trucks is booming in China, BEV has almost caught up to them by now. Which should tell you that the economics for BEVs is better than LNG.

Yes, the rise of electric alternatives is noted in the sheet.

Electric HDV Models are Emerging

• China’s trade-in policies to replace older diesel models currently favor electric alternatives.
• In the first quarter of 2025, the electric segment captured almost 20% of HDV sales, up from 8.1% a year ago.
• Increasingly competitive electric alternatives due to declining battery costs and battery swapping may see LNG only play a transitional role for heavy-duty trucking.
