Does it have a practical purpose?
I wonder how much of the stopping power is due to the glass and how much is due to the rest of the phone. I think it has gorilla glass or whatever the latest tough glass is for smartphones.

They can turn lead into gold but it's way more expensive than just buying gold. Why do it? Because it has nothing to do with wanting to be rich with gold. The value is the technology in turning lead into gold.

Robotics done at that level is a learning process for students. Using three hydraulic cylinders per leg is not an achievement. That's old tech. It would be more impressive if the actuators are located at the joints using torque power. But they can still learn about the mechanics of motion and axis control. Then they should move up to the next level.

Hey I won't be surprise if they use this as a moon walker for astronauts to explore large crater if they can keep it at this size with longer energy life (either battery or solar panels).
