CAS IMR in Shenyang has developed a super copper foil that possesses ultra-high strength, high electric conductivity and thermal stability.It boasts tensile strength reaching 900 Mpa with 2x the electrical conductivity of other copper alloy of comparable strength levels. 1300℃! High-Temperature Resistant Lithium-ion Battery Material Successfully Developed
At the 14th International Energy Storage Summit and Exhibition held in early April, a new material showcased by Professor Shen Xiaodong's team from Nanjing University of Technology attracted widespread attention. This is the world's first high thermal resistance aerogel insulation sheet for new energy lithium-ion batteries that can withstand temperatures up to 1300℃.
The 15th Five-Year Plan outlines the acceleration of strategic emerging industries such as new energy and new materials, which fills Shen Xiaodong with anticipation for the future: "We will strengthen basic research and industrialization, promoting aerogel insulation materials from a 'high-end option' to a 'mainstream necessity' in new energy batteries. Simultaneously, we will explore its applications in fire protection, commercial aerospace, and space computing, driving the establishment of China's aerogel nanomaterials industry system."

Canada Research Chair chemist Janusz Pawliszyn joins Chinese university
The Polish scientist who invented two widely used analytical chemistry techniques has been hired by one of his former students.
Janusz Pawliszyn, the 71-year-old recipient of the Chemical Institute of Canada’s highest honour and a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, has joined Guangzhou’s Sun Yat-sen University, the institution announced on April 9.
Pawliszyn has supervised more than 110 master’s and doctoral students as well as nearly 200 postdoctoral students and visiting scholars, many of them from China.
