Also there is usually a maximum size for tank crew. Many men are just too large to fit. Do you want to increase the size and weight of your tank to use crew members of 6', 1.83 m. or more? People in many countries are now generally larger than half a century ago so it makes sense to recruit female tank crew.

Take a look at any number of figures and you will find that as nations have industrialized and risen in Nutritional standing they have also risen in physical standing. a really good example is Korea. The South Koreans are taller then the North Koreans despite the Fact that the two nations should have identical gene pools. Another case in point is a common complaint form American gun owners and shooters who often find the rifle Stocks on European long arms wanting because of the difference in length of pull and general build between larger ( and not always around the waist) build of American shooters vs there European equivalents.

I thought Tank maintenance and repair can be a physically demanding job even for men? And the type 96A only have 3 crews?
Are you sure those are women? Perhaps it's just the small picture but that looks all male crew to me.

It is 100% normal to include women in all types of military branches, even having high percentage of them. But in this case of having all female crews..... is rather.....PR or for show.

Tanks have been around for a century and they were driven purely by men and it worked fine. It's nice to include women, but purposely having all women? Reminds me of the crazy feminists from college selling cup cakes. The price sign said $1.25 for boys and $0.75 for girls......
Anyways, drifting off topic. Nonetheless, this is kind of awkward thing for PLA to do.

huh? what do you mean? the person on the front is the driver no different than any other tank in the world. 3 tank crews eliminates the role of the loader since it has an autoloader

I've known old Chinese women that can carry a load on their backs the average modern man would whine about and they look like little old women not steroid hulks. I'm fully confident Chinese women can do the job in a war. Anyone ever see that video of the female Chinese police officer disguised as a civilian shooting a hostage taker point blank. That took some guts and she didn't flinch a moment walking up to the guy.
It's a little off topic, but no, I haven't seen that video. Sounds crazy. You wouldn't happen to have a link to it would you?
