Hey guys. I've been reading stuff from SDF as well as from some of the active members' works (such as @Deino - I wrote to my library and recommended your works, and they ordered them!).

Somehow I never got a confirmed registration done right last year, but I'm thankful this time the process is smooth. I'm based in Canada. Sometimes I write about VERY rudimentary reviews or comments about military, aviation, arms deals, etc. elsewhere (including on social media) but I feel maybe for now it's best for me to separate those platforms from this one, simply because I look like an absolute novice here!

Hello, I have know of and followed Sino Defense since the 2000s. I am glad to be here.

Even though I have never been to China, I inform myself a lot on China through the internet and from books and magazines. China faces plenty of challenges as it embarks firmly on the quest to become a high income country, and the biggest challenge to this are efforts by outside states to prevent this from happening by restricting technology from it or punishing it with tariffs and sanctions for pursuing its own R & D.

Technology and economic development are my main areas of interest and this is the same as with regards to China.

Hello everyone, I have been visiting SinoDefense occasionally since 2006 but have only decided to register to the forums recently. I wish to have an interesting discussion with the people here in topics such as economics, politics and of course military tech. I am no expert but I just wanted to discuss my ideas here and there. I hope I will have a great time talking with you people.

This forum is going downhill. Repeatedly closing threads and banning users without warning. Fastest way to drive away traffic and kill the site.

The irony is the new rule regarding no political discussions. Has any of the mods checked American websites like reddit, youtube, etc.. where anti-China comments are the norm?
You don't see mods on there banning users left and right. Quite the opposite, anti-China sentiments are encouraged on US websites.
Seems like mods on this website are trying to keep the truth from spilling out amidst the current trade war. Well, here's the truth: US-China relations are becoming more and more hostile. And this will definitely affect every ethnic Chinese person living in the USA (remember the Japanese American internment camps or McCarthyism?). If anyone here is living in the USA, you might want to think about moving back to China. This is just a friendly advice.

Goodbye. It was a nice couple of months - learned a lot..

And those forums sucks... What's your point?
No political discussions had been a rule on this forum for a decade plus.

I am thallium, and I wish to discuss about the boats of china coast guard, china marine surveillance, maritime safety adminstration and the fisheries law enforcement command.

Even though some ship belong to ministry of agriculture....they could be a supporting power to PLAN.

First time here, are my interests welcome in SD?
