Hello from the land down under!

I've been lurking around for years now so I thought it better late than never to introduce myself.

I'm a Chinese-Australian currently completing my medical degree and serving part-time in the reserves. My growing interest in China's military development brought me to SDF back in 2015 (this is my second account). I'm a longtime military geek so watching the PLA's breakneck modernisation on SDF has been absolute eye candy and a source of pride towards my roots.

I'm excited to see what surprises China has in store for us in the coming decades and to continue reading the insightful discussions on SDF.

Hello I am an Indian currently residing in France.

I am working in the energy policy sector. As a marxist-leninist and an ardent fan of the CPC, especially its anti-imperialist posture, I'm here to develop a better understanding of the strategic developments from a Chinese perspective. The tremendous speed of China's military upgradation has left me in awe, and SDF is one of the best sources on the internet for me to keep myself up to date on that.

I am a second generation* Japanese-American living in the United States, although I plan to return to Japan next year.

I originally visited SDF without an account to learn more about the Type 003 carrier's development, but I have found the sharing of non-military related news to be informative as well.

I look forward to continuing to keep myself apprised of Chinese military and space developments, and other events in the world on SDF!

*My father is Japanese and my mother is American. My father does not actually intend to remain in the US, he is only here for work. So "Japanese-American" will in a short time no longer be correct description of myself.

@SunlitZelkova Konichiwa welcome to SDF, I wish to hear more from you, Japan is in a difficult situation right now balancing both its relationship with US and China. But as neighbors they will find a way to live together peacefully and wish Japan become a normal country again.

I am an ethnic Chinese Vietnamese currently studying in tourism faculty. I have long been interested in military stuffs, especially China military capacity as well as other aspects such as China science and space development. SDF is really a good place for me to get some deep insight into these matters.

@Egg roll bro welcome to SDF, since we will be in the same industry when you graduate, I wish we can do business in the future, where are you based in Vietnam or in the states?

Thank you! Although the future looks dark in my personal opinion, hopefully crisis will be averted and peace will prevail. I think the US forces should leave Japan but the limit to the SDF and Article 9 should be maintained.

I am a Pakistani whose looking to enhance their views through discussions and thought with other people, especially in the field of defense. Western Media is too biased and Reddit bar a few subreddits has really lost its zeal. I've heard of this place through another website: pakistan defense forum. I hope this forum can give me the chance to do that.

Hi everyone. Registered for a while, but more listening than talking. I am native Chinese, shipbuilding engineer living in Shanghai. As a mechanical monster lover I naturally be interested in weapons, and used to view military news in chinese forum and weiboer, but in past months as long as the goverment enhanced military news control, lots of forum were hided or closed, and many military weiboer were told not to talk about military personally, unless the news were offical released. Then I found this forum by google.
Glad to see that people in this forum is very professional and almost every post of topics is on the point, not like some popular forums full of meaningless and illiberal squabble.
It's also a good chance to get neutral view of things relevant to China here. Too much biasing in major media, both Chinese and western.
