Thanks a lot for the great pic! BTW can you answer a few questions?

1) This new 052D DDG, whats the armament and configuration?
2) From the picture you posted, there seems to be a simply enormous hanger deck, it this ship much bigger than 052B or 052C?
3) What are the general specs of this DDG?

Sorry, it's the new YuanWang 5 scientific observation ship. There's no way a DDF will have such a big hull...

If you guys have any other pics of the susposed 071. Please post. I would love to see an aireal view of the construction. Then we may be able to decern what sort of ship it is...Right now all I see is ship modules under construction

Thanks swimmer. Have seen all those except the magazine cover. What I would like to see is an actual aerial picture of the hull under construction.

What ever ship it is it is large . Very large. Probally close to 180(600ft) meters in lenght. Way to go PLAN:china:

Found this pic on china-defense.com. I don't exactly know what I am looking at, but from the way the hull looks it certainly doesn't look like a merchant ship.

Don't worry those guys on War Sky are PLA fans, they probably know more about the PLAN than Richard Fisher, they predicted the 051C, 052B, and 052C hulls when they were in the shipyard. Wouldn't surprise me if they got it right. :coffee:

So the other magazine covers and models you posted are for the 071 LPD.

But the picture with the large hanger is a YuanWang space tracking ship?

Hmm... I'm confused. I thought that if the pic was not the new destroyer then it was the 071 LPD.

It will turn out to be something like this...

Anyway anybody know what this is?

I'm pretty sure they are the superstructers to the 071....

It would be nice for the PLAN. But would the ships be ready to go to sea to train the crews? What sort of training are the future crews undergoing right now? Espically in the case of the 071. it will take time for the PLAN to learn how to operate an amphip ship of that size.

It's one thing to have nice new ships. And a whole another thing to operate them in a safe and effencient manner.

Sorry, the 052D rumor is false, so I guess it's just 071, 054A, and a bunch of Type 022 FACs

I had seen something like that, but I didn't know how true it was. Does that mean the picture was another ship entirely or are they producing more 052Cs? Is there any word on 052D?

Regardless, still, getting out an apmhibious assault ship and 054A should be very good for the PLAN.
