plug in hybrids are better than pure electric IMO. yes there is the cost of the additional ICE engine but the energy density of chemical fuel makes it superior to a pure electric vehicle while the much higher efficiency of a generator + electric motor and regenerative braking means that it's still better than an ICE car.Guys, have you bought an electric vehicle? or do you plan to buy an electric vehicle in the foreseeable future? If yes, what brand, what model and why?
For me, living in a country where infrastructure for electric vehicle isn't available, owning an all electric vehicle is not so practical. However, owning it as a second car is OK. We may drive it within its 'combat radius' and charge it at home. If I am to go full electric and since I already have a gas burner for all the rational purposes, then the electric car that I may choose must be sleek and exceptional. The choice is obvious -- Human Horizons' HiPhi-X!
We are in the same position as you, Also we feel there are still too many unknowns such as how they cope with being constantly driven on rural roads, many of which are not tar sealed. Having said that we finally took the leap and bought a GWM Cannon X instead of a Ford Ranger two months earlier. We use three utility vehicles on the farm and replace one every third year. In the past, we alternated between Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger. I have placed attention to GW over the years and I think the Cannon could be their breakthrough in ICE vehicle and might lead to them producing a excellent electric version, and one I would have no hesitation in buying if I was living in a major town/city.Guys, have you bought an electric vehicle? or do you plan to buy an electric vehicle in the foreseeable future? I'm using a non plug-in hybrid Lexus RX series. When I bought this CUV, my thoughts were simple; to experience a hybrid vehicle and to save gasoline. It does save some gasoline but not at the level I was thinking and I need to change my driving habit. Further, I need to pay more attention to the hybrid battery.plug in hybrids are better than pure electric IMO. yes there is the cost of the additional ICE engine but the energy density of chemical fuel makes it superior to a pure electric vehicle while the much higher efficiency of a generator + electric motor and regenerative braking means that it's still better than an ICE car.
A Hot Hatchback version of something the Byd dolphin, or a EV version of the 2018 Ford Focus I would buy in a heartbeat.Guys, have you bought an electric vehicle? or do you plan to buy an electric vehicle in the foreseeable future? If yes, what brand, what model and why?

They also won't work in the winter. Ton of Tesla's in my neighborhood (Calgary) and all disappear once it hit -15C. It's range drop to basically "can't make it to downtown" when cold.Would love to buy one, Am in Canada, prices are horrendous for EVs.
Just found out Rivian has no sales yet valuation is 110B? WtfIt looks like Lucid and Rivian are real EV companies.
