I can't stand BYD exterior designs. They are way too unhinged. Only Seal and Seagull look good at their category. They have these weird themed design like sea barnicle, dragon whisker, etc. People just want a sleek car not a cosplay item. It is like they sit at their own test doing shit for laugh instead of asking people opinions.

You have Han who is upper mid range that looks completely remarkable. Then there is dolphin that looks like a cheap 2002 Chinese car. I like their drive train and battery but they feel more like a industrial company than a good car designer.

I think Yuan+, Han, current Qin, Seal and Seagull are all quite good.

Seal and Han in particular.

Dolphin looks about right for its class.

U8 and U9 imo are not bad, they're just a little "busy".

What a difference a couple of days makes.
NIO botched their European rollout by offering the lease option only initially. They should have offered the purchasing option from the beginning.

China has started the construction of a network of hydrogen pipelines. The first one is 400 km long and can carry 100,000 tons of hydrogen annually initially, with 500,000 tons eventually.

Climate change: Sinopec’s parent to build China’s first long-distance hydrogen pipeline to boost green fuel usage

  • The ‘west-to-east’ demonstration pipeline will stretch over 400km from Inner Mongolia to Beijing, according to China Petrochemical Corp
  • The project will greatly lower the transport cost of hydrogen, the key barrier to faster green hydrogen development in China, the company said

You miss Tang and Song which is BYD's flagship SUV.

In my opinion: Tang looks good while Song is ugly (to my standard).

Han looks nice but the sedan is a bit too flat especially the rear.

Yuan+ or Atto 3 looks balanced for its money, everybody can accept it.

I know too little about Seal and Dolphin, so I would not comment on them.

USTC Develops Battery that Can Be Fully Charged in 18 Seconds
Apr 11, 2023

Recently, the team from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) developed new aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs). The related achievement was recently published in the international academic journal PNAS.

The official website of the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory at USTC announced that Professor Song Li’s team has developed ammonium-intercalated vanadium pentoxide ZIBs cathode materials with fast charging performance.

The test results show that at a current density of 200 C, the specific capacity of ammonium-intercalated vanadium pentoxide (NH4+-V2O5) cathode material remains at 101.0 mA h g-1, and the charging time only takes 18 seconds.

The majority of the EVs sold by BYD in Israel were the ATTO 3, with 5,602 vehicles sold in Q1 2023. The ATTO 3 is BYD’s primary export model and has a starting price of 163,500 ILS (USD 45,400) in Israel, which is considerably more expensive than its price in China and Europe.
