The situation for Tesla in China goes from bad to worse.

I think Tesla spent a few weeks upgrading its Shanghai gigafactory for the revamped model Y last month, which affected its production rate. However, in terms of battery EV, Geely, after combining the sales of its divisions, now outsell Tesla consistently. Xpeng, on the other hand, is closing in on Tesla. For Tesla, the competition from Chinese NEV makers will only get stronger in the future.

nobody knows the order situation, but they will most likely continue to launch new models like Sea Lion 07 EV soon and that will also add orders. But in terms of shark, this is just a situation where they have to launch a competitive pickup in many of the global markets to capture those demand. Looking at the top sales models, many are pickups.

Sealion 7 actually launched here in February too, with 157 sales recorded. I'm wondering if EVDirect is bottlenecked in their ability to prepare vehicles for delivery. There are currently tax incentives for PHEVs that

, so EVDirect may be prioritising Shark and Sealion 6 orders to get as many as possible through before the cut-off date. Seal, Atto 3 and Dolphin sales are collectively down 83% across Jan-Feb 2025 compared to the same period last year, so hopefully it's as simple as that
