The whole 1027 thing has demonstrated that the Tatmadaw is very stupid. Why would you upset your rich auntie like that? Don't you know she can make your life a living hell? But if you do as you're told and don't associate with the bad crowd she warns you against, she'll pinch your cheek, tell you what a good nephew you've been and hand you a fat red envelope.

Is that not the problem for all warlords? After being a king in their little kingdom too long, they lost touch with the reality and got emboldened that they could get away with anything. I mean they have gotten away with drugs, kidnapping, ransoming, extortion, forced prostitution, illegal gambling, and now telemarketing scams. The only difference is the Chinese government wants blood this time.

Ming family of Kokang are in big trouble. Probably shouldn't have killed those Chinese cops on Oct 20th.

I heard this rumor, but was it ever actually confirmed that the cops were killed? It would be extremely reckless and invite a big response, like we are seeing now.

No it's not confirmed and it could be a story cooked up by MNDAA to give their offensive more legitimacy.

I recall credible netizens on Myanmar talking about the Oct 20th incident. If the Oct 20th incident didn't happen, the Ming clan must have committed great sins towards China in order to for China to issue those arrest warrants since none of the other big families of Kokang or Myanmar Chinese were issued recently.

I assume something happened maybe not as intense as rumored by something definitely happened because there's LinCang police notice.

Some people think that notice is fake, regardless the CPC has already give the MNDAA China's blessing.

Myanmar children living near border with China already have the option for free schooling in China, been like that for a few years already. Here’s couple videos:

Another point of confusion which I felt needs to be addressed is this idea that China is sinicizing the Myanmar border. This is not true, in fact after the MNDAA was defeated in 2011, the Myanmar government has been thoroughly de-sinicizing Kokang, which has been a part of China since at least the Yuan dynasty. The Myanmar government forced a cut back on Chinese education in Kokang, and implemented mandatory Burmese language classes in Kokang schools. The Myanmar government also added mandatory signs in Burmese, that's why all the Kokang videos you see have Burmese everywhere even though everyone is speaking Chinese.

The people living in Kokang is straight up Chinese people with Chinese roots, no different than overseas Chinese like the most of us. TBH they are probably more Chinese than us since every day they speak/write Chinese, they use RMB, their celluar service is China Mobile and their phone number has yunnan area code. They just happen to live under a different government due to unfortunate historical treaties signed by various parties.

Hopefully MNDAA's victory can reverse the damages done by the traitorous leaders of Kokang. Perhaps this incident signifies a subtle shift in China's foreign policy.
