Both Thaksin and The Bhumjaithai Party don't want to agitate the monarchy and military and provoke a civil war within Thailand.

“This is Bhumjaithai’s core principle that cannot be changed or negotiated,” the party said in a statement posted on Facebook. “Bhumjaithai cannot vote for a prime minister candidate of a party that has a proposal to amend or abolish Article 112.”

Earlier this week, Thaksin Shinawatra also sought to distance his family from the push of Pita’s party to “lese majeste” even as Pheu Thai party which the former premier backs had agreed to join hands with Move Forward.
It is a common phenomenon that oppositions become much more reasonable after they obtain power. This is among the most visible defect of modern social media era democracies. You can keep saying ridiculous things to get attention from usually polarized and emotional people until what you say starts to matter. Even Yoon and Meloni became almost normal after winning the elections.

After the European circus tour, Zelensky arrived in Saudi Arabia, where he lectured at the Arab League Summit. The Syrian delegation refrains from putting on translation headphones during the Ukrainian Zelensky speech at the Arab summit in Jeddah. Zelensky has not returned to Ukraine since the drone attacks on the Kremlin. After those attacks, Zelensky fled to Finland, then the Netherlands, followed by Italy, met with Pope Francis, then Germany, France and now docked in Saudi Arabia.

The Zelensky Circus' is touring all over Europe with its menagerie!' The French television channel RTL, mocked the tour of
Zelensky in Europe. Ambassador of Ukraine to France Vadim Omelchenko, demanded an apology from the French TV channel.

The destruction of depleted uranium shells in Ukraine has produced a radioactive cloud which has been blown toward Western Europe, the secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolay Patrushev, has claimed. The UK has supplied this type of munition to Ukraine to be fired from British-made Challenger tanks.

The senior official revealed the purported threat during a government meeting on Friday, in which he accused the US of providing “help” to other nations that results in harm being done to the recipients.

“They ‘helped’ Ukraine this way too, applied pressure to its satellites to supply depleted uranium munitions. Their destruction resulted in a radioactive cloud moving towards Western Europe. They have detected an increase in radiation in Poland,” Patrushev stated.

Unconfirmed reports have circulated in Ukraine regarding the target of a Russian strike last Saturday, which Moscow said destroyed an ammunitions depot in the city of Khmelnitsky. According to the claims, the military facility was used to store British-provided depleted uranium shells. It has been suggested that the material may have been turned into dust by powerful explosions at the depot.

Russia previously warned that the use of depleted uranium munitions poses a long-term environmental and public health threat, based on studies in nations such as Serbia and Iraq, where the weapons were previously used. London has denied such a risk.

While it is mildly radioactive, depleted uranium is mainly considered a health risk because the material is a toxic heavy metal. Particles of uranium or uranium oxide produced in an explosion could be inhaled by anyone exposed to them, or contaminate the environment.
Polish authorities have denied claims that a spike in radiation was detected in the eastern city of Lublin on Monday.

Speculation about the blast in Khmelnitsky was fueled by the reported deployment of Ukrainian military patrols that allegedly collected samples in and around the city. A nuclear power plant is located nearby, but reports claimed that patrols that normally monitor the situation around the facility were seen far away from their usual routes.
Reminds me of the financial sanctions

Well, not only industrial solutions but also a lot of Chinese consumers are going gaga over European luxury clothing brands made in Bangladesh and China. Brand value.

Sure there is, or rather, was, an unhealthy degree of western worship in China, but even before the Trump trade war, that was massively declining as reality overwrote a lot of western propaganda.

If you are running a company in China’s ultra competitive market and your expensive fancy western machine doesn’t outperform Chinese equivalents that costs a fraction of your foreign machine, you very quickly take that lesson to heart and adjust your future buying choices or the market corrects you, with your business going out of business due to higher overheads compared to your competitors who went with Chinese machines.

That trend is masked to a large extent by the kind selection bias as would be the case with the original anecdote.

This is why it’s always dangerous to use anecdotes as primary evidence of broad general trends.
