The black dude probably doesn't mind to be put in jail for long term but the system doesn't want to take him in as it is costly. No matter what, the system failed the people so badly that more common people would take laws into their own hands.

Is the next story you are going to insist that the Americans never supported Al Qaeda or gave weapons to Islamic extremist against Syria? Because if their European vassals don’t say anything then it must have never happened. Now that you mention it. The Western Govs is completely silence about the purging of the Orthodox church in Ukraine. Must have never happened because they never complained about the curbing of religious freedoms in Ukraine.

If I were a South Korean, I would be very angry for what the Imperial Japan, the U.S. occupation forces, and the Yoon administration did. It's a triple whammy: first, Korea had to supply comfort women to the Imperial Japanese Army; then it had to provide prostitutes for American servicemen; and now they have to endure the New York Times' lecturing that they should not ask for compensation from Japan because they also supplied prostitutes to the American occupying forces! Adding these to the servitude demonstrated by the Yoon administration toward Japan and the US - my blood would boil if I were a red-blooded South Korean.
