How Politico covered the news about the conversation between Xi and Zelenskyy:

Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Wednesday reassured President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Beijing would not add “fuel to the fire” of the war in Ukraine and insisted the time was ripe to “resolve the crisis politically.”

While Xi’s remarks — as reported by the state’s Xinhua news agency — made no specific reference to international fears that China could send arms to Russia’s invading forces in Ukraine, his words will be read as a signal that Beijing won’t give direct military assistance to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In a fuller statement, Zelenskyy said that during the call “particular attention was paid to the ways of possible cooperation to establish a just and sustainable peace for Ukraine.”

“There can be no peace at the expense of territorial compromises,” Zelenskyy added. “The territorial integrity of Ukraine must be restored within the 1991 borders.”

One major difference, though, existed between the two.

Zelenskyy has been clear about the need for resistance to continue as Putin has shown no signs of easing the Kremlin’s military aggression, insisting that negotiations would not be possible while parts of Ukraine remain under Russian occupation.

Xi, however, said now would be the time for all sides to talk.

“Now [is the moment] to grasp the opportunity to resolve the crisis politically,” he said. “It’s hoped that all sides could make profound reflection from the Ukraine crisis, and jointly seek a way toward long-lasting peace in Europe through dialogue.”

That is what happen when out of touch with reality overpaid think tankers take control over the narrative, what happened in that last administration was because Trump didn't really belong to those circles they where a bit more weaker, Trump was basically manipulated by his own people, but now that the weakest most cucked party in US history is in power, the DOP, these Military Industrial Complex sponsored breeding places of Chicken Hawkery have become too powerful in D.C., it looks like they have more influence now than in the Iraq War when G.W Bush was president and people who don't know nothing are now are influencing political decision and pushing for basically WW3. Scary times.

Where are MSM and American chamber of commerce when the US banned Huawei, ZTE and then hundreds of Chinese companies.

Considering Russia only recently (a month ago?) finalized RMB settlement in all cross-border payment, there is a delay of more than half year to reflect Sino-Russo trade volume in the graph. Should be reflected in any graph in 2023. BTW, Russia's share of China's trade is relatively small, so the impact is probably going to be buried in fluctuation anyway.

A very refreshing speech and acknowledgement of China's ancient history, innovations, inventions that has helped shaped our world from the current British Foreign Secretary. It's nice to contrast the reporting from the barrage of negative news regarding the Sino-West relationship.

Whilst his speech and reporting on the western media has focused too much and predictably so on the need to make the usual anti-China spiel this bit of his speech is just as important and in my opinion more so since it acknowledges the current political body/entity that's responsible for revitalizing China to what it is today: A powerful country.

I am not sure how much China cooperating with Russia on missile defense. but they are now integrating S-350 to protect cities it has that high G turns that can deal with buildings for things missed by S-500 at high altitude. This HIMAR is high altitude rocket. some of the intercepts based on video they presented were above 18km at much closer range. SAM missile has to accelerate extreme fast to gain altitude.
