That's probably true. And...? Millions of Chinese sent their children to US to study, and perhaps that's the reason why the Chinese have a far more realistic understanding of US than vice versa. I don't think you need to worry. Just let the Vietnamese version of 大鸡院 and VOA churn out the next generation of patriotic Vietnamese like they did for China.

You could say the same of PM Lee of Singapore and his early tenure. It took awhile for reality to force his adjustment, and lucky for Singapore it did. If Vietnam comes to be ruled by fools and clowns that are impervious to reality or facts, it is only a matter of time before their country implodes in a fiery storm of incompetence. Just like Ukraine, India, UK, and the US.

What happened to early reports it was a low tech balloon? The West reports wishful thinking as news. There was another story I read yesterday somewhere that said the solar panels on the balloon were able power sophisticated radars. Is this what Blinken would expose that China was too scared to let him visit China. Is China putting a gun to the US's head ordering them not to expose how advanced China is?

There is no saving a brainwashed and cucked people. It takes a generation or two of proper education to save their society and people. In the short to medium term, there is only managing them so that they do not cause harm to the society.

Completely different. China offer decent quality of life, rapid economic growth and very likely to become the superpower in the world. Vietnamese have shoddy infrastructure, no techonolgy, highly dependant on FDI for jobs and export, the belief in the party is low by rampant corruption. They use Covid as a means to exploit their citizens via "saving flight" which charge 10x higher than commerical ones, "domestic kit and vaccines". The party don't purge the pro-west. The pro-west purge themselves for being too greedy. A young Vietnamese go to US, realized that Vietnam is sympathetic compared to US, a young Chinese go to US, realized that US no better than China. It's big difference.

Most are recent, very recent in fact, and it is the direct result of propaganda from Le Duan (1976-1986) time. In the past, more then 100 years ago, the relationship actually are good and the cultural tie is deep.
The tension between Vietnam and China raised as a direct result of the Soviet - China tension and the decision of China to align with the US in the 70s. In the end, Vietnam chose the Soviet and signed a alliance treaty with the Soviet. Right after that, the propaganda system of Vietnam, learned from the Soviet has worked full time to demonized China and Chinese.
The policy to align with the Soviet cost us dearly
The rest is history, the Soviet lost, Vietnam lost the whole war (1979 - 1989), Vietnam has to come to China for peace, Cambodia fall back in China camp, the islands lost.
Now with the US-China tension, the US actively push the propaganda against China as well, hence the result: they re-use some propaganda of old and push that to social media
However, since 2019 - 2020, the US lost heavily in virtually all front, the propaganda in social media become more and more ridiculous.
