The way this bill is drafted allows them to lock up anyone using a VPN to get on WeChat to make a call to their mother back in China...

Yet in large parts of US one can openly steal $999 worth of products without prosecution....

This tells me all I need to know. Its a War Time Powers Act

The root of the problem still comes from their inability to tolerate competition. In this case, it's control over the digital domain and thus the flow of information.

I should add that the US hasn't always been this way. However, the type of positive drive that fueled the space race died a long time ago. You can theoretically say that the fall of the USSR was also a tragedy for America as it caused the loss of its values. The fact that "tryhard" is now an insult, speaks for itself.

Yes, because in rule of law America, if you drank at a bar across the boarder in Canada or Mexico and cross the magical boarder, traffic cops cannot charge you for DUI because you got drunk outside of their jurisdiction. Someone give this guy a law degree, bar certificate and make him the dean of Harvard law school!
