Xi says he invites Putin to China for Belt and Road forum

MOSCOW, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping said here on Tuesday that he has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to travel to China for the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation this year.

When meeting Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Xi said that the invitation was made in his informal meeting with Putin.

He noted that Putin attended both of the previous two Belt and Road forums, saying that the Belt and Road cooperation is important in connecting the two countries.

It fits the historical logic that Chinese leaders take Russia as a primary choice for their overseas visits, Xi said, adding that China and Russia are each other's biggest neighbor and comprehensive strategic partner of coordination, and that such a relationship has withstood the test of the world's profound changes.

Xi also called for continuous regular meetings between Chinese premier and Russian prime minister, and invited Mishustin to visit China.

The third Belt and Road Forum will be a huge party, maybe we'll even see Macron or his successor there ;)

It's clear the US Military knows that the majority of Taiwanese view DPP as a threat to their security, and that the DPP has no chance in the next presidential election. The process to make Taiwan a police state is already underway; they will simultaneously praise Tsai on her good work for making Taiwan more "democratic".

Taiwan’s military postpones controversial proposal to

  • Proposed amendment, now on hold, would expand government control over civilians, speech and supplies during wartime
  • Critics say it hands ruling DPP power to sway media and silence dissent, much like ‘KMT Gestapo’ of martial law period
Under the proposed amendments, all media organizations, online platforms, information networks and television broadcasters would be required to cooperate with government controls during the mobilization period.

There is no definition of “mobilization preparation”: it is ambiguous and can cover peacetime.

“Such ambiguity would give the DPP government a blank cheque to declare preparation for mobilization, thus allowing it to have absolute control of the media to silence dissenting voices, even if it is not wartime,” said Wu Sz-huai, a legislator with the

and a retired lieutenant general.

The proposed amendment to require education authorities to provide a list of students aged 16 and above sparked fears among Taiwanese parents that their children might be sent to war or made to help in manufacturing munitions. “The 16-year-olds are still in their first year of senior high school and have yet to take the civil defense education course. How would they expect them to go to war without training?”

"The revisions had nothing to do with pressure from the US as some lawmakers had suggested" Defense Minister Chiu said, "the proposed amendments were intended to boost public morale."

Why is no one talking about this?

Love how the West is now trying to point out to Russia how they have short end of the stick in the Sino-Russian alliance. Well isn't that the West's fault in trying to cancel Russia? Hence why it's so easy for the West wanting to punish China for Russia's war with Ukraine from the start. And of course the West thinks it did nothing wrong... Russia is the invader yet the West is trying to paint Russia as the victim of China. They don't want to admit their campaign against both Russia and China is what drove them together.

Why do they seem to hold sympathy for Russia? It's because the Republicans saw Russia as their white supremacist partners in crime in controlling the world. I saw Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, Tom Metzger, years ago say he didn't want a Cold War with the Soviet Union because good white people live there. That's the Republican Party's attitude today. They loved how Russia treated Obama with overt racism during his Presidency. They need Russians to do the dirty work to maintain a white supremacist world order. Now that's all dashed because Russia and China see the US as their primary adversary. Now ironically Russia is offering Africa free grain if it comes to that point.

What does the Western alliance including the likes of Japan and South Korea have in common? They don't have self-sustaining economies. They need other markets to sell their products to in order to maintain their first world lifestyles. They need natural resources they don't have in their territories that exist primarily in the non-Western world. Russia is now a part of the world that have the resources the West needs. China exist as an alternate buyer for those resources that pays more than the West is willing to. The Western alliance is an alliance of have-nots. It's not surprising that the historic invaders of the world are allied and panicked together because they don't have the resources within their own territories to maintain their economic and technological lives.
I would like to add that many Republicans bragged about the Sino-Soviet split being engineered and exploited by Kissinger and Nixon. This is fundamentally wrong. The Sino-Soviet split was not engineered by the US. It was a homegrown friction that began between Khrushchev and Mao. The Americans didn't know that the Sino-Soviet split was a real deal until the Zhenbao Island conflict in 1969. Only then, did the Americans started making diplomatic moves to recruit the Chinese against the Soviet Union.

They Americans assume that China and Russia will always have rifts no matter how close they are. And that America is always one step away from from unraveling that relationship. Also wrong, because China and Russia have learned their lessons from trusting the US too much. The Russian have already woken up from the failed renaissance of their "Peter the Great Look-West policy". The West had betrayed Russia time and time again, and have finally admitted, that their ultimate goal was to permanently destroy the Russian nation. The Chinese have also woken up from some of the mistakes of working with the US during the Sino-Soviet Split. The most serious one was helping America to arm and train the Mujahedeen in Xinjiang to hobble the Soviets in Afghanistan. That had led to the rise of Islamic extremism in Xinjiang which the Americans then exploited later, with China paying the price in lives and a costly counter-insurgency campaign. Both China and Russia had paid dearly for trusting the West too much. That is why the current China-Russia relationship is an open-ended partnership, not an alliance with treaty obligations. Both sides don't place obligations on each other, but try to find common ground to work together. Their differences are worked out together, instead of confronting each other. It is not a perfect alliance, but it is a very stable relationship. This is a mature relationship, borne from the lessons of the Sino-Soviet split. The Americans can only talk about the differences between Russia and China, but their belligerent foreign policy unites the two even closer.

The Republicans say that Russia can never be close to China, because Russia is ultimately a white Christian civilization. That no matter the abuse and betrayals that America inflicted on Russia, Russia will always stand with white Christian America. But somehow the Japanese and South Koreans who were not white and not Christian enough, must also choose only America. Because Americans values are the 'ultimate values'. This is a mindset of racist imperialism, and exceptionalism. They just don't realise how stupid they look to the Russians. How can you can have Trump say that he wanna be friends with Russia, and then pull out of the INF treaty? How come the Republicans say that Russia can be a good friend for America to use against China, and then Lindsey Graham declares that Putin should be assassinated?

Russia has seen everything they need from America and the West. There is now a complete strategic shift in Russia towards the East. America can never be trusted again, Democrat or Republican. Unlike the US, China doesn't have a bi-polar disorder foreign policy. Its foreign policy is consistent, predictable, reliable, and simple to follow. That is why China had earned Russia's trust. If Trump returns to the US presidency, he won't have a bridge to repair with Russia, because it had been burnt to ashes. And since Trump himself had also contributed to the fire, he is in an even weaker position to rebuild any trust.

Short end of the stick is preferable to being beaten with a stick, which is the alternative.

Reminder to never fly qantas lest the US decides to shoot your plane down as a false flag instigation

didnt the Russians say use of depleted uranium on Russians will be considered a nuclear attack necessitating a nuclear response ?

The Americans are evidently Wanting to use their military option whilst they still have it, but are too pussy to fire the first shot because the Americans know Europeans will balk at an aggressive war against Russia.

Politico: Ukraine afraid to criticize China. Ukraine has refrained from criticizing China over its close ties with Russia in the hope of attracting future investment from Beijing, Politico has claimed. This stance comes in stark contrast to the angry tirades that Kiev has directed at the likes of Hungary and Germany for their perceived lack of anti-Russian zeal, according to the media outlet.
