What a bunch of US airlines crybabies.

Instead of asking for baning of foreign airlines flying over Russia from landing in the US, why don't you (the US airlines) lobby the US government into doing actions that would allow US planes to be able to fly over Russia again instead, huh?!

Fvcking ret4rds.

On the other hand, if such bans become a reality, how should China respond?

Only countries that recognize the ICC can arrest Putin and extradite, in all there are about 123 countries with the US not included, because even they themselves do not recognize the ICC. With this arrest warrant issued by the ICC, Putin cannot enter the following countries filled in by the color green:

It should be noted that in these countries your status as head of state is not valid and, if you enter, you can be arrested and extradited by the national government, if this does not happen, it is very likely that there will be sanctions against the country that recognizes the ICC and has not arrested Putin .

This is more than just a symbolic measure.

It's a clown show.

Chinese mobile devices (outside of Apple) rely on Android derivatives, do they not? Google has a high degree of control over any Android platform that isn't actively being developed as a fork (like Harmony OS), because core Android updates come through them. Chinese companies like Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo do consumer side customization of the platform, but they do not do core Android platform development. If the US bans access to Android updates, it's going to be a huge blow to any of those individual companies.

The US is smart enough, as I said above, to not do a country wide ban on Android because they prefer to channel resources into "useful idiot" companies. So say they wanted to target Xiaomi - they could just cut that company's access to Android updates, while still allowing it to Vivo and Oppo, causing the latter to gain a competitive advantage because they'll be able to benefit from Android platform upgrades while Xiaomi would be stuck with an older version with all the attendant bugs, security vulnerabilities, and feature deficiencies.

This is part of how they targeted Huawei; of course, the other arm is the chips ban, which works the same way, but with a higher barrier of entry.

With pretty much all the countries that actually matter on the world geopolitical stage (US, China, Russia, India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Iran etc) not being part of the ICC, it seems like the ICC is just a piece of toilet paper (except in the eyes of Europeans, of course).

Again, you have no idea of what you are talking about. Chinese smartphones don't directly use Google app system. Google doesn't have any control over Chinese smartphone system within China.

Most Chinese smartphones use a generation old or two open source Android platform and do a complete makeover and doesn't rely upon Google for updates.
Again Xiaomi doesn't need Android updates. It has its own app system that only updates by itself. Old version or new version doesn't matter. Xiaomi could update Android to a complete different system and unrecognizable. It is Google who is begging Xiaomi to use the latest platform not the other way around. Using a new version of Android is costly and useless for most smartphone companies in China.
This is part of how they targeted Huawei; of course, the other arm is the chips ban, which works the same way, but with a higher barrier of entry.
Again, Huawei was doing way better after Android ban. Android ban actually made Huawei selling more smartphones than ever. So Android ban is useless in China. Chips is entirely different matter.

Oh please, no countries would arrest Putin. It is just symbolic. ICC can't do a thing to sovereign nations. US has even threatened to arrest and sanction ICC and its judges for investigate and charge any Americans with war crimes in Afghanistan.
