Ants Gang losing faith in America, thinks US government betrayed Guo to get on CCP's good side.

I have noticed a lot of those crazies have this belief that "patriots" can rise up and purge US government of all the pro-CCP elements, free Guo and lead them all to glory. I reckon if you say you're a proud boy raising fund for an uprising against the deep state and return Trump to power you can con a lot of money out of them.

Get some slogans going, like: 杀牛羊,备酒浆,开了城门迎川王,川王来了不纳粮。

For a second, I thought I clicked the Funny Stuff thread by mistake.

I agree that Nobel Peace Prize up to now has been another hegemonic tool, however WTO was also created as a hegemonic tool to allow US to use her relative advantage in trade under the name of "free trade". Yet by joining and playing the game better than the US China has converted WTO to be more true to it's supposed aim, to the point that US got so butt hurt they deliberately crippled it.

I think Nobel Peace Prize could also follow such a trajectory. If Yemen war does end and it's clear it's result of Chinese mediation than they must give the next prize to Xi or they will become an even bigger laughing stock. Nobel Committee as an organization has its own momentum and has to justify its existence and they may well be forced to do this despite objections from the west.

Or maybe they will stick to their guns and refuse to award Xi, in which case it's only a matter of time before someone from the Global South gets an idea to create their own Nobel prize, but with blackjack and hookers.
The Nobel Peace Prize? The same one that was awarded to the Dalai Lama and Liu Xiaobo? And Xi Jinping can get one too? It'll punch a big hole in the principles of the Nobel Peace Prize. Which is to further the democrazy, agenda of the White elites.

The moment Xi's name gets nominated, all the usual cartoons will start protesting. They'll be protesting about the familiar stuff. Human rights, Uighurs, Tibetans, HK, Wuhan lab, etc.

If Xi somehow gets nominated. It's more likely a PR trap. They might also nominate Joshua Wong at the same time. Then finally awarding that Nobel Peace Prize to Joshua Wong in the end, in order to humiliate Xi. Naah, just stay away from that stinking turd of a 'peace prize'. Xi has got better things to do.

Brazilian President Lula to visit China

Lula visiting China for almost a week, I'm guessing he will sign lots of agreements, including BRI agreements.
Brazilian 5G build-out and EV plants
Brazilian high speed rail
Brazilian nuclear reactors
Trans-Amazonian Railway

Lula c'mon don't let me down

On a trip to China in 2004 Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, then president of Brazil, took with him an entourage fit for a rock star: seven cabinet ministers, six state governors and more than 450 businessmen.

On March 15, 2023, Assistant Foreign Minister Hua Chunying met at request with Director-General of the Asia and Pacific Division of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland Heinrich Schellenberg during his visit to China for political consultations. The two sides exchanged views on China-Switzerland relations and international issues of mutual interest and concern.

Is Switzerland ready to spread her legs for some much needed injection of sugar daddy bailouts Xi Jinping thoughts?

Tiktok losing the 300 million or so customers in America will be a setback, but with far more people than that in developing countries able to take up the slack, the main achievement would be that Americans become more isolated from the world, and that the authoritarianism of Washington becomes more apparent.
Any ban will likely bar all American companies from doing business with Tiktok, including the Google and Apple app stores. This effectively bans Tiktok in all markets as most Android users will not bother with manually sideloading an app and sideloading is not even possible on iPhone.

It would provide a good reason to hit Zuckerberg's domain as well.
Yes, the hysteria over Tiktok in the US is driven mostly by Meta behind the scenes. China needs to make it clear to Zuckerberg that any Tiktok ban in the US will result in retaliation against Meta.

Even though Meta's social media platforms don't have any presence in China, China can still seriously harm Meta by banning companies advertising with Meta from doing business in China.

Meta's advertising revenue stagnated and in fact declined for the last 3 consecutive quarters despite continued growth in overall ad industry revenue. This is in large part because companies are finding Meta ads to be cost ineffective compared to other options.

When faced with the choice of losing the Chinese market or stop spending their ad dollars on ineffective Meta ads, a lot of companies will pick the latter.

This practice of using political means to block the market has aroused the concern of radicals who believe that the use of force to expand the market in the future is inevitable, otherwise relying solely on the shrinking domestic market will not be able to compensate for the huge investment costs of semiconductor production.
Add: This view holds that technology is not the biggest obstacle. The main problem we face is that the market is basically controlled by the West, and the West can completely use administrative orders, intimidation, subversion, and blockades to threaten other countries to prohibit the purchase of Chinese high-tech products.
