The blogger started with this premise and then concluded quite logically the conclusion that he drew. But surely he ought to have applied logic to the premise itself?
I'd think anyone not in the thrall of western propaganda would look at that premise and ask "wait, what? how...?"
Also, surely Bongbong Marcos knows that allowing the US to use the bases to launch operations in a hot war is like painting giant targets on them, waiting for the PLA missiles to strike.
No. How are you going to wipe those bases off the map permanenetly without using nuclear weapons? Besides, China isn't crazy enough to go that far.
Depending on how Beijing sees this development. If there still remain benefits and interests for China to invest in the Philippines, then I think China would follow through. Although, this may come with certain limitations, reduction in scale of the investments, and/or asking for more concessions from the Filipino side.
My only hope is that, in this case, Marcos did realize that this would eventually happen and clarified his position and reasoning with Xi during his visit to Beijing early last month. If Manila can make sure Beijing understands that the Philippines is being forced by the US to do the above actions, then I don't think China would go smack-hammering on the Philippines.
However, if Marcos didn't make this clear to Xi beforehand and/or now, and/or Manila did intend for this to happen as putting an up-yours to Beijing, then we already know how the story would go.

It would be idiotic to do so. China isn't stupid and it knows that Philippines is still a US Empire territory. If China didn't invest a lot of money with Duterte there is no way it will invest with Marcos
Most likely, more talks/MOU/studies of investing but no real money invested to Philippines. The more Philippines drags out this geopolitical tightrope, the more it gets left behind by its neighbors.
Maybe in 1 or 2 years, there isn't a big difference, but in 10-15 years Philippines will realise how much damage it has caused to itself

Unless there is evidence there will be a military buildup at those bases on Luzon. The Americans are not saying much, as this deal is bit of a secret.
