U.S. military poised to secure new access to key Philippine bases

The expansion is part of a broader push in the Indo-Pacific to buttress U.S. force posture, reinforce alliances and deter China

I don't think Xi will be happy after getting played by Marcos.
Lol look at the history of this new Wapo "reporter"

Was an intern in 2019 and writing crappy local news up til middle of 2022. All of a sudden she's a Pulitzer recipient and chief of southeast asia bureau.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with how she's a turncoat with a "Chinese" face who willingly works as a pawn for the US empire trying to stir shit in asia.

Also, guess where she was born and raised. Truly the anglo base of Asia known for producing white/US worshippers.

There is something fishy about all these stories regarding the return of the US military to the Philippines.

I really thought that meant the US trying to restore their bases at Clarke Air Force Base and Subic Bay Naval Base, but that is not even discussed, that is non-negotiable.

What they could be talking about are just Mickey Mouse deployments.

Notice all these articles never mention troop levels. What is that?

:D

They wrote the same shit in 2021 when the US was courting Vietnam, just look how that went for the US.
Going from the US is surely able to use Vietnam bases to fight China to Vietnam purging some pro western politicians.

I had said before to not trust Marcos words.
If its true and not the usual western propaganda, that's a big win for the US.

Also this is another piece of news that reinforces my argument that the US is already seriously preparing/planning for war

I think it is empty propaganda.

Last week, and all this time, I did not know what to think.

Now I think it is just propaganda.

How big is this base, how many US troops we talking about?

Unless this is like what we see in Okinawa, then this is all bs.

Even Okinawa may not be that useful in a Taiwan conflict. It is still too far away. The Philippines is even further.

As for the South China Sea, notice was is being discussed in these articles, a base in the Philippines, and not a port.

Are the Americans trying to make themselves look bigger than they really are?

Zelenshy put the number on how many tanks they wanted, several hundred amour pieces, and jets.

Why no discussion of number of US troops deployed?

If the surname is Tan, 99% her origin is either from Singapore or Malaysia.
