Xi personally insisted to Biden that Meng Wanzhou be released, thus she was release. Now that's what you call leave no one behind.

Also in light of this, we can all see how much this case was about Canada following the law vs Canada being US lapdog, as if we needed any more evidence.
Being Canadian I cannot see Canada being something else than US lapdog... how would the US react if we say no ? It would not take long to be officially part of it. It's just that it's more convenient to the US that we are still there.

Jean Chrétien refused to participate in Gulf War 2003 and we didn’t get bombed because of it. We used to have leaders with balls.

Still, market watchers expect U.S. interest rate hikes to continue driving up the greenback's value, especially after President Joe Biden said Saturday that he was "not concerned about the strength of the dollar."

"Market-determined exchange rates are the best regime for the dollar," Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said Friday.

With the Japanese currency plumbing historic lows, many investors expect Tokyo to conduct another dollar-selling operation to shore up the yen. Some believe that the government is already surreptitiously intervening in the foreign exchange market.

The funniest part of Jean Chrétien was when it cut the purchase of MBT in 1994 because with the pullout of Canadian forces from Europe, the only ground forces they could face was the US and number we would have would clearly not stop them, not worth spending on these, lol !

We still participated in the conflict in Iraq, helping to rebuild and for training of Iraqi police and army officers. We also send 3 frigates and a destroyer to take command of the multinational naval group Task Force 151, which patrolled the Persian Gulf region. Military troops where in exchange in British and US forces and aircrew were in US aircraft doing combat mission and our C17 was doing cargo flight to the conflict for ''training''. So not sure about the level of balls.
