No way. Keeping the pipelines as was would cost next to nothing. And these were multiple billion investments. Why the heck would the Russians blow up their own pipeline when they can just as easily turn off the taps.Still, if gas isn't flowing anymore, there's no business to be had. Meanwhile Gazprom would still have to maintain the pipelines, for what?
This way it would be a good excuse to just dismantle the whole thing, or let it rust, and it saves Russia having to cough up her share for the upkeep.
And if the euros ever want to get NS back up, the Russians won't be the ones to repair it since the damage is not on their side.
So it's still possible, however improbable, that it just might be the Russians.
Probably the Lvov oblast. Maybe each of the regions of west Ukraine will have a similar referendum.Based on a very rough translation by Google Lens, a referendum on whether Lyiv should separate from Ukraine and join Poland(?)
When were these photos taken?
Russia has an economy the size of UK and furthermore, Russia's role was never to be a gdp tank anyways. Russia is a resource bank for the East, and it remains just as functional in that role now as ever.I think the US did not achieve all of its goals fully but still fulfilled most of them. They weakened both Russia & Europe, while reaping the profits from military equipment and energy sales. Plus Euros are now even more loyal to their "protector" daddy USA - they already expanded their presence in countries like Poland.
The US tried to provoke the same thing in Taiwan with Pelosi - create a flash point, weaken China, ASEAN, Japan, and SK - but failed.
There is a theory what remains of the Ukraine joins Poland, putting them into NATO and the EU automatically, instant free EU money and NATO article 5 protection.
