Did US go full war mode on Afghanistan or Iraq by a national mobilization? No. Was the 20 years war a stalemate? Yes. Was USA already giving its all? No.

You get your answer. You can compare Sino-Vietnamese border conflict as well, the answer is the same.

It all depends on what answer you want to get, not what the facts tell you.

There weren't any Christian powers to propagate it in Asia at the time.

It was patronised for a while by a few Mongol emperors during the Yuan dynasty (although I don't think any actually converted) but later rulers assimilated to Chinese beliefs and culture.

It is pathetic for UK to ban such a trivial thing. It means basically UK doesn't have any independent foreign policy left. And don't make any stupid excuse for the UK as the 7 MPs were sanctioned for retaliation. It is the UK poked China first not the other way around.
