Good, Americans targeting Xi is just them burying their heads in the sand and trying to re-package their decades old and completely defunct notion that they just need to find the right leverage to make China collapse like a house of cards. First it was ‘ordinary Chinese people’ against CCP, now it’s CCP vs Xi. Different label, same BS.

So long as America continues to dream of non-existent magical silver bullets that will make China implode without them needing to do actually hard work or make any painful structural changes to improve their own performance and capabilities; then they will continue to be fundamentally unprepared to meet the comprehensive, full spectrum challenge China represents, and China will continue to win on all fronts.

Also Nicholas Kristof running wild on New York Times today about China like a demented fox

I also noticed Nicholas Kristof talking about attacking Xi Jinping. In the last 4 days, media organizations have written opinion pieces on attacking Xi Jinping as the new China strategy. The idea is that Xi is the 'weak link' in China, a personality cult/dictatorship, and once you remove Xi, China will collapse. CIA apparently giving new directives to all media organizations. I believe it was WaPo and other media organizations that also mentioned attacking Xi Jinping. Really CIA has just issued a fresh batch of directives to media organizations.
The way I look at this: even Americans now recognize that Li Keqiang is a complete joke.

Next its gonna be Xi against himself, and Dr. Phil will go on TV to testify how he observes Xi is internally conflicted and having self doubt

There is no six pack abs shortcut despite Mike Changs youtube videos, USA needs a "whole of government approach" to take on China... but going by how Pence's 15 days to stop the spread turned out, I am not betting on team America

I see it more as sending a message to pro-US CCP faction that it's time to fight against or at least hamper Xi especially in light of CCP's centennial anniversary. Xi can draw enormous political capital from a smooth and successful celebration. In contrast, failure could very well diminish Xi's status.

If you have been reading mainland media recently, you might observe an interesting development about covid prevention measures during Chinese new year specifically whether migrant workers should return home or stay during the holiday. Normally, covid advisories are issued by Ministry of health. Strangely, both Liu he and National reform and development commission came out and issued their own opinions after announcements from health ministry. This could suggest disunity among top leaderships.

Timing is also appropriate because political infighting and horse trading among CCP factions are common before every new five year plan.

Any pro-US CCP faction is basically treasonous traitor to China at this point.
America will never be satisfied until China is crushed, the only option for China is to fight the good fight.

Disunited about what may i ask?
At this point wouldn't any pro us CCP factions meet the same fate as bo xilai?
Xi Jinping is untouchable at this moment he has undergone baptism of fire, he went through the triple gauntlets of covid, trump trade war, hong kong unrest and came out victorious

CCP is more united than ever at any point during its history

There are many forms of brief nuclear exchange.. just like in biowar cough cough cough, I could see the US going for plausible denialability... CIA arms terrorists with dirtybomb to blow up a major Chinese city or say collapse the 3GD... now how will China response to this sort of scenario in which the yeild is that of small tac nuke but attribution is not certain or at least not obvious to the world or public? (see Beirut port explosion)

And do you think China wouldn't be able to "revenge" with the same scenario/s ?

In terms of foreign policy, how China should face off against Biden's administration, hardline actions like reciprocal sanctions of US officials and US firms, or more one-sided trade concessions to buy off Biden's administration. In terms of domestic policies, whether to emphasize GDP growth or deal with increasing wealth inequity and uneven wealth distribution. Reformers and nationalist fractions have different priorities.

Pro-US fraction can easily disguise itself as pro-trade. Bo's key underling defected and went into US embassy which made it easy to take him down.

Covid is still an ongoing crisis. Many covid related problems can have domestic political implications. How best should CCP deal with contaminated imported food stuff while food price inflation is at a high level? How best should CCP balance migrant workers' need of going home during Chinese new year against increased risk of covid transmission?

Xi may be untouchable but that doesn't mean other fractions can't obstruct his policies. Remember how long took Xi to solve 秦岭 problem.

china's revenge would be to demographically restore all of North America back to being majority populated by the indigenous peoples. We will let people figure out what it means. Hint: it has to do with urban centers (or lack thereof)
