I think I heard something about it back in 2018.You mean the diplomat that got bullied to suicide? Yes. You know about that one too??
Ah this piece of human garbage. And all of it just to make Frank Hsieh look good.

Actually this isn't the full story. The only reason DPP will put out news such as this (and yes that taiwannews.com source your quoting is notoriously pro-DPP) is because they have been exposed of their deeds and the massive public backlash has forced them to admit their deed (to an extent). Initially DPP blamed "Chinese misinformation" for "misleading public opinion in Taiwan" and it is because of "public bullying" that caused the diplomat to commit suicide. Not only did DPP-affiliated media blast this "Chinese misinformation" theory 24/7, many DPP politicians also exploited the incident and came out to condemn China for "waging misinformation war against Taiwan" and even went as far as to say that "the people in Taiwan should stand with DPP to fight against Chinese misinformation". They also accused KMT of "repeating Chinese anti-DPP rhetoric" and "not coming out to condemn China". The worst part was when the Japanese government finally came out to inquire about the incident, the DPP regime even lied to the Japanese saying that it is China who caused everything. The lie even caused a NHK prime time documentary reporting the incident to falsely blame China for the diplomat's death. After the documentary came out, DPP-affiliated media then used the documentary as proof to silence those who were suspicious of the narrative, claiming that "even the Japanese thinks that it is China that caused the diplomat's death". Another interesting part of the incident is Frank Hsieh going onto Japanese television showing what is said to be the diplomats last written words before he committed suicide. The written words basically says that Frank Hsieh and other DPP officials has nothing to do with his death and it is because of "public bullying"(which is in turn caused by Chinese misinformation) that he committed suicide. Frank Hsieh and many DPP officials also repeatedly cited the supposed written last words during many interviews and some even condemned China for "killing such a young and talented diplomat". DPP media also touted the supposed written last words as proof of how "Chinese misinformation is actively harming Taiwan's democracy".Actually this isn't the full story. If Lai, FLG and FLG's pan green friends have any sense, they'd stop right now and sit tight.Interesting that the mainstream TV media outlets aren't even mentioning this. Even NBC who came out with this story had their lower level TV personalities break the news. I see none of the big name personalities on TV talk about this yet especially this close to the election. The only reason if they don't is because they're guilty of using Jimmy Lai and Apple Daily as their sources before on attacking China. They would be discrediting themselves. It'll be like Harry Wu. They loved using him to bash China but then when he was found staging crimes for the US media, they silently stopped using him where he was relegated to far-right news media where they could care less if he was lying.
For what it's worth, Jimmy Lai claims his aide Mark Simon got a $10,000 grant (without explaining why he needed $10,000) from the company and neither Lai nor Apple Daily are involved in the Simon/Balding dossier.
Sounds suspiciously convenient.
