Industry Minister Kim Vows to Preserve Korea-U.S. Alliance Amid Coupang Dispute

Visit focuses on $350 billion investment talks, tariff negotiations, and resolving U.S. concerns over Coupang penalty

Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan returns to Incheon International Airport Terminal 2 on May 10 after concluding negotiations on strengthening cooperation in industrial and trade sectors between the two countries, including the strategic investment project in the U.S. /News1
Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan, who embarked on a visit to the U.S. carrying issues such as the Coupang penalty and investments in the U.S., stated on July 22, “I do not believe the Korea-U.S. alliance will be shaken by a single issue like Coupang,” adding, “We will resolve misunderstandings and bridge any gaps.”

This visit to the U.S. comes a week after Ambassador to the U.S. Kang Kyung-wha urgently returned on July 15 to discuss Korea-U.S. issues. Originally, this trip was scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the Korea-U.S. Shipbuilding Cooperation Center on the 23rd, but with various trade issues coming to the forefront, it is expected to serve as a platform for broad discussions, including the concretization of the $350 billion-scale investment in the U.S. and the U.S.’s new tariff movements.

More context on the Indonesia President's speech. Indonesia tried to nationalized the Chinese Nickel facilities after investment started operations.

Everyone wants to be China but no one has the steel will or the cojones to do what it takes to be China. When China was poorer even than Africa it faced off against peak USA and won.
Indonesia? As soon as the CIA threw money at their dictator, Indonesians saluted and took orders from the western neocolonial, the economic hitman. They ain’t got the stones to be another China let alone another Vietnam.

Iran isn’t targeting Chinese data centres… food for thought, arabs.
