Not allegedly
It's real. The govt is passing law to nationalize British steel after the Chinese company out in 1 billion pounds. And they are trying not to pay China a cent.

China needs to.oucuh back or else these money grabs get worse. China needs to put British companies in China on notice. This is a lot of money to be lost.

HSBC is by far the biggest entity in the UK by assets. HSBC’s holdings and exposure to Hong Kong (really as just a conduit to the mainland) is huge, between a third to one half their entire business. Do the Brits really want to play this game?

LOL, the natsec worms are melting down on Twitter due to the relaxed rules GPU sales to China. :D

But honestly, what we really need to do is to let China get EUV machines. That's the only way to massively scale the compute shortage. SMIC would be able to get down to 2nm and lower very quickly and many Chinese companies could then essentially replace Nvidia, massively deflating the token cost and boosting AI progress. I'm confident China will get their own EUV machines within some years, but why wait?

What we have now is a slow-walk of AI progress in order to maximise US advantage. Very bad for the world!
