your the one who sounded triggered in the first place. by being obnoxious.
its a report from news media and this is a news thread, if you only want to see what you want to see, its upto you. but dont force your views on others or give any attention to it if youre not interested. there are options in this website like ignore button.. if it really triggers you alot. i use that ignore button to avoid obnoxious members too.
Calm down bud.
You posted the clip. It's up to you to indicate WHY that clip is significant and why you think it's important enough to post. So far you haven't don't it. It's a news thread, you posted an opinion piece.

I asked a legitimate question. Just because you can't answer it doesn't make my question obnoxious.

Maybe if you actually spent the time to indicate WHY you think that clip is important and less time trying to blame me for asking the question, you'd get a lot further.

Exclusive: China's top chipmaker has supplied chipmaking tech to Iran military, US officials say

  • US officials say SMIC sent chipmaking tools to Iran's military
  • SMIC is heavily sanctioned by US, which alleges it has ties to Chinese military
  • Supply of chip tech raises questions about Beijing loyalties in Middle East conflict
WASHINGTON, March 26 (Reuters) - SMIC, China's largest chipmaker, has sent chipmaking tools to Iran's military, two senior Trump ‌administration officials said on Thursday, raising questions about Beijing's stance in the month-old U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran.

SMIC (0981.HK), which has been heavily sanctioned by the U.S. government over alleged ties to the Chinese military, began sending the tools to Iran roughly a year ago and "we have no reason to believe that any of this has stopped," one of the officials said.

The official added that the collaboration "almost certainly included technical training on SMIC's semiconductor technology."

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity in order to discuss previously undisclosed U.S. government information. They did not specify whether the tools were of U.S. origin, which would likely make shipment to Iran a violation of U.S. sanctions.

SMIC, the Chinese Embassy in Washington, and a spokesperson for the Iranian mission to the United Nations did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The Chinese government maintains that it carries out normal commercial trade with Iran. SMIC, which was added to a trade blacklist in 2020 that restricts its access to U.S. exports, has denied allegations that it has ties to the Chinese military-industrial complex.

China has not publicly taken a side in the Middle East conflict. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi this week called on the parties to seize all opportunities to start peace talks as ‌soon as possible.

The allegations threaten to heighten tensions between Washington and Beijing as the U.S. wages war against Tehran and as it has sought to choke off China's advanced chip industry.

Reuters reported last month that Iran was close to a deal with China on the purchase of anti‑ship cruise missiles, just as the United States deployed a vast naval force near the Iranian coast ahead of strikes on the Islamic Republic.

It was not immediately clear what, if any, role the chipmaking tools have played in Iran's response to the war, which was launched by the U.S. and Israel on February 28 and has roiled financial markets, triggered a surge in oil prices and fueled global inflation fears.

One of the officials said the tools have been provided to Iran's "military industrial complex" and could be used for any electronics that require chips.

Washington has sought to curtail China's ability to make advanced semiconductors through sanctions on SMIC and other Chinese chipmakers, aiming to limit their access to advanced chipmaking equipment from top U.S. suppliers such as Lam Research, KLA and Applied Materials.

The Biden administration tightened restrictions on SMIC in 2024 by cutting off its most advanced factory from more U.S. imports after it produced a sophisticated chip for Huawei's Mate 60 Pro phone, Reuters reported.

Western Media (or maybe US officials) are complaining about Chinese “loyalties.”

Did they convinced themselves they won the trade war and China is an MAGA vassal state?

Western Media (or maybe US officials) are complaining about Chinese “loyalties.”

Did they convinced themselves they won the trade war and China is an MAGA vassal state?

Just because they already lost the tech and trade war, and it backfired so badly that it ended up benefiting China's position massively, does not mean China is just going to absorb all that hostility for years and leave it unanswered.

I genuinely do not understand why westoids struggle with this. If China is already openly choking and degrading the US military through REE controls, why would it suddenly refuse to use other tools as well, including supplying Iran with everything necessary to help finish the job?

The West thinks they own the world. They have never thought otherwise. They have convinced themselves they’re looking out for what’s best for everyone else so therefore you have obey them just like a child can’t independently make decisions for themselves and the West is the parent that gets to. That’s how they logically think it out instead of just admitting publicly they think they just own the world and everyone has to obey them because they’re the master race. They know the world can turn on them because the world has all the strategic resources they need to survive hence why they tried to conquer the world in the first place. That’s what the Cold War was all about. The West won but they had to lie and claim they cared about human rights so therefore the world doesn’t turn on them again. The right of the West wants to end that charade and wants the West to act on their true beliefs.

What the hell is going on. Too many scientists and engineers are dying in China in mysterious ways and too early. Even if they die, why would their names be scrapped?

Is Xi Jinping taking out CIA spies inside China?

I dont think US would be doing any assassination inside China, cause China can hit right back. So, the only one who can do this is the govr itself.
Your guess seems like a pretty good one. That the US recently announced a successful major test of a hypersonic missile suggests traitors gave them useful data.
