Something I observed from the war in Iran. Iran tried to negotiate with the US for sanctions relief for decades and got nothing out of it. They start firing missiles for 3 weeks and the US straight up removes the sanctions on them. The rules-based international order were actually a constraint.
EDIT: More clearly, following the rules set by someone else while they can ignore their own rules is, by definition, a constraint.
Hopefully, China learns some lessons about what engaging in good faith yields versus disrupting or being willing to burn it all down.

It’s because the Epstein-Alliance runs on rapist logic. The more you grovel and submit then the more excited they get. But if you break you a massive pair of garden shears and threaten to confiscate the instrument with which they perpetrate the crime then they’d actually respect you. I mean China should have learned that buildings relations is a waste of time literally since at least the Anti Japanese war because the west will always tear it up in the end. This happenend during WW1 (Qingdao), Anti Japanese War were they supported Japan until the 1940s, Post Cold War especially 1989 and more recently the GWOT where they demanded China's support for anti terror operations but refused to call any attacks on China terrorist attacks and blamed China for it because muh "ethnic rights".

I have aleady predicated India will be Royally Shafted and will be immediately obvious to every one. Just look at John Mearsheimer latest interview on RT english. he is contrasting Russia and India. India was beneficiary of Soviets which attracted to Indian type countries now 1.5B Indians want to do special trade with EU and not recognize Crimea.
Russia is technically advance and polite version of Soviets with traditional values as governing model and there is step beyond traditional values called Immediately Obvious. (See my earlier reply to Saudi shopping malls and resorts for all kind of people).
This new phrase that Putin want bring attention is called "Immediately Obvious". These are Russian who are on paper Russian but when they are met by real Russian like Putin than they are not Russian and Putin travels without lights and quietly in Moscow to find such people. Moscow has two fundamental problems. Migrants from leftist countries and ethnically mix people. Putin want ordinary Russian to recognize this immediately obvious. Only study of soft power gives that in depth knowledge.
