I wonder why you want to keep animation and gaming to japan when Chinese companies are producing super Donghua and Games. Japanese game and Anime industry also outsource lot of animation work to China as well. Its time take away Japanese market share for these two industries as well just as they lost JDrama and JPop.

Japan can only survive by completely transforming into a subordinate of China speaking Chinese. Otherwize it is doomed degrade and slowly become poorer and poorer.

Realistically speaking Japan has produced many iconic IP such as Super Mario Bros, Pokemon, Gundam, Sailor Moon, Godzilla, Street Fighters, Sonic the Hedgehog, Doraemon and such which I believe some at least would remain known for generations like Alice in Wonderland and Journey to the West.

The beauty of such soft power is the characters never grow old like those Kpop idols, cannot be replaced by other cultures like cheongsam with kimono nor become obsolete like smartphones, they became legacy and cultural identity of such nation.

When I mean few industries left for Japan, it's basically cultural stuffs, no more high tech robots, no more fancy gadgets, no more sophisticated chips, no more advanced military weapons, all those has become a thing of the past.

Oh about hentai and such, they can keep that no problem ;)

EU should fire trade bazooka if China de-risking fails, says industry chief

The EU should activate a never-before-used trade tool to counter Chinese restrictions on exports of critical raw materials if a new plan

on Wednesday fails, the EU’s industry commissioner Stéphane Séjourné said.

“If this doesn’t work, and in one or two years we find ourselves with value chains that close down from a lack of Chinese sourcing – because we’ve not diversified quickly and we’re still too dependent – we will probably have to use the anti-coercion instrument,” Séjourné said in an exclusive interview with Euractiv.

Maybe Europa Supapowa industry is so advanced that it won't need low value slave labour Chinese rare earths in "one or two years"?

Chinese culture has a soft spot for the weak so begging is actually the best strategy for the EU right now; they might actually get a little something. But luckily, Western culture doesn't understand this; the Westerner always seeks to look as if in a position of power, even when feigning. From liberal arts majors and college dropouts wearing suits to give presentations that are worth nothing more than common sense or a 3 sentence email to countries that always must follow up with threats if they don't get what they requested, the Westerner must always puff his chest out. And that's great because I truly wish they'd come more with threats like this to seal themselves in their own coffin. It would be such a shame if they came begging with feigned sincerity and China saved this winter-stricken snake.

You want to go by how the European Western elite saw their Eastern European brethren in history, this guy shouldn't be talking like he was part of the West. But then that's what Eastern Europeans desire these days to be recognized by their bigger brother. The Chinese have experienced the Eastern European that Western Europe labelled as the most racist of the European continent. It's no wonder that China has had trouble with Eastern European countries thinking they can stand up to China and then lost in embarrassment. This author coming from one of them. Yes, Europe didn't beg to China. The Europeans with their elitist mindset would see that as insulting. They would more believe China needed to beg to them to help Europe. That's why it didn't happen. Europe continues to think they're important hence why they act like their acceptance alone is priceless to the rest of the inferiors of the world. Europe bought a seat on the Trump train in his first term before Putin invaded Russia. Russia then was a part of their plot to ally and gang up against China post-Iraq War exit for the EU. Their anti-China plotting goes as long as back then but somehow China is suppose to give them unwavering support in anything and everything they ask...?

If you saw the HBO TV series, The Regime, that accurately portrays the European mindset without them knowing it. The series was about a fictional European country's internal drama of going rogue from Western values. The producers try to portray how they think what it would be really like if that were to happened. And what was one of the first acts of their autocratic leader after the West cuts them off... they go running to China for assistance. But here the foreign secretary acts like it's a desperate attempt of a developing country beneath any civilized country. In reality the foreign secretary is probably going to be the first person that recommends their leader go to China not one that is a secret Westerner that has chosen an autocratic regime to join? It's wishful fantasy where everyone really wants to be a Western European anyway and they want that played out like a porn movie so they can masturbate to themselves. That's what they think is happening in Russia. Europeans think that's happening everywhere in the world.

Australia will start manufacturing Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) missiles this month with the opening of a new factory at Port Wakefield in South Australia.

The precision-guided missiles have a range of more than 70km, according to Lockheed Martin.

Defence Industry Minister Pat Conroy says it's the first factory of its kind outside of the United States that will produce these types of missiles.

Speaking to ABC Radio National Breakfast, Conroy says the initial factory will supply weapons to the Australian Defence Force.

He says the government intends to build a bigger factory that can produce weapons that can be exported to the US.

He says Australia is facing uncertain strategic circumstances amid a significant arms build-up in the region.
A lot of the military installations, sub bases, arms are located on the southern coast of Australia, relying on the deserts of the north to slow down any supposed Asian invader. The population has also been primed by a national mythos of a fear of being “swamped by Asians“ so they will act as decent meat shields for the ruling class of Australia to abscond to New Zealand or America.
No insurance company in the world covers war risks. Try again :)
Thats why you get the gov to become the insurer of last resort .
The U.S. taxpayer will be paying for those Potemkin factories to be blown up so US elites can get rich like Milo Minderbinder in Catch 22.

why do you think teeny tiny pissant europens nations like Lithuania cling to the Anglo American world order? Because the Anglo American world order maintains and upholds white supremacy as its guiding principle and therefore this racial apartheid is the only way these pissant nations can actually feel superior over a non white giant like China. It’s why even wannabe white people like Iranians and Indians think they have standing to assume superiority over Chinese people.

No. They are biding their time while trying to weaken economic dependency with China. They'll continue to plant mines quietly while attempting to lull China into a false sense of security.
That may be their intent but in reality, biding thier time is the worst strategy against China because backing off only gives China more energy to invest in growth rather than conflict and really everything stems from China outgrowing the West. Today, their problem may be economic dependence on and technological competition with China. But many tomorrows later, after they bide their time to remove economic dependence, their new problems will be total eclipse by Chinese technological dominance, severely eroded Western global influence and perhaps the rise of certain global south countries buoyed by cooperation with China to challenge the Western powers that once colonized and oppressed them.

Only thought-provoking works can endure. Most Japanese IP lack depth. Even the slightly more profound *EVA* merely explores the basics of humanity. *Attack on Titan*, attempting a deeper exploration of world understanding, ultimately went astray due to the distorted nature of Japanese society and culture. Furthermore, works like *Dragon Ball*, *One Piece*, *Naruto*, and *Detective Conan* almost all ended poorly. Other entertainment works are basically just for fun.
Even during Japan's golden age, there were few culturally resonant works (with the exception of some Miyazaki Hayao films). These things will eventually fade with time, and the next generation of young people may never even know these works existed.
