The reason why the entire western power structure is hysterical about China’s rare earths move is because it’s an expression of China now going on the offensive with escalation dominance, this is no longer the Anglos being able to kill any nations tech and economy with no blowback the way they murdered afghans and promoted and celebrated their war criminals Israeli style. Now, when dealing with China, the west is going to pay with interest and then some.

It is getting more and more apparent there is no getting to AGI period no matter how much compute you throw at it, not with LLM anyway, something completely new is required. So yeah the US stock market is a dead man walking.

China OTOH is pushing our current AI into industrial application, it will yield much more improvements in productivity even without AGI.

I just want everyone to note that compared to as recent as two years ago, the western media noosphere would never have conceived of the idea that China could make military scientific advances that supersedes the US let alone the West. Not even during the Cold War when western mouthpieces screeched about Soviet weaponry has this impact been felt this much by the western commentariat because you’ll have some western mouthpieces insisting that China is lying and cheating and that China never advanced beyond 1995.

The US would rather takeover so China's power and economy is theirs. If they can't do that, they want to turn every province into an independent country and get them to be bitter rivals to one another like how neighboring countries are to China now. Dividing China into three parts is not enough. That way China is no longer a threat to Western power. They would rather enslave the Chinese as a whole because they can make money continuously that way. And the Western left will be there to make it out to be not what it looks like and legal. You won't be seeing the Western liberal calvary coming over the hill to rescue. The rise of Western liberalism is only around to make excuses for the West.

As far as I am concerned, it’s China providing him with a worthy opponent, an opponent that is going to make as ass out of him unlike anyone else who seems to fold quickly. Seriously, they literally could pick anything and call it a win these days. whats hilarious are western leaders thinking Indians were equivalent to Chinese and that they could just switch investment from China to India and have a second China to fight OG China. Instead their trade deals mean they have to import infinity Indian useless mouths with feet who occupy jobs and real estate that would otherwise have gone to native born westerners.

no, the REE ban is so powerful nothing less than the removal of western armies from Asia and the occupation of Australia and new zeland by the PLA is warranted. REE are what enable modernity, without it the rest of the world can go back to 1980 technologies and dieselpunk.
