Taiwan has emerged as the world’s largest importer of Russian naphtha, a petroleum derivative critical to semiconductor production, even as it publicly aligns itself with Ukraine and international sanctions against Moscow. According to a report by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA), Taiwan imported $1.3 billion worth of Russian naphtha in the first half of 2025, with average monthly imports nearly six times higher than the 2022 average. Compared to the same period in 2024, imports rose by 44%.

The decision was made at the 31st regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Andean Community (ANDEC), which was was held in Bogotá, Colombia.
Member states expressed that China has always played an important role in the international community and global governance, and that China's admission as an observer state to the ANDEC is of great historical significance. They expressed their hope that this would promote bilateral cooperation, advance regional economic integration and sustainable development, and better safeguard the common interests of developing countries.

Elon Musk’s X is the “go-to platform for antisemitic posters,” according to a new year-long study shared exclusively with CNN.

The research, by the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) and the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, found that not only is antisemitism rampant on the platform, but also that the crowdsourced community notes are failing to effectively moderate posts — with just over 1% of the most-viewed antisemitic posts the group studied getting a community note fact-check.
