The actors are also basically subsidized through tax credits. It’s not only in Toronto, since Canada is a big country you can basically find settings for anything. Many major sci-fi series were filmed in BC. Cowboy movies are usually in Alberta (naturally). Now even Newfoundland is attracting production.
