Horrifying allegations have surfaced in Dharmasthala, Karnataka, after a former sanitation worker claimed he was forced to bury over a hundred women's bodies between 1995 and 2014
...

A political controversy has erupted over allegations of mass burials in Dharamsthala. A former sanitation worker has come forward, breaking a purported 20-year silence, to claim he was forced to bury hundreds of dead bodies, primarily of women and girls. He alleged that many of the bodies had bruising marks on private parts, suggesting they were victims of sexual assault and murder.
In response, a BJP MLA has dismissed these accusations as baseless. The MLA stated, "Anybody who is knowing the work, what is being conducted in Dharamsthala will know that this allegation is baseless." While rejecting the claim, the politician also said the government would investigate if a formal complaint is lodged. This raises the question of whether the claims should be investigated further to uncover the truth rather than being dismissed outright.

This is the way!
That Julian Karaguesian is a straight up wumao. He was the one quoted as saying that Canada should not be a “vassal state” in following American EV tariffs. Basically straight out of /r/Sino…

Yes,have several friends/relatives in SG and indeed the overseas Nanyang Chinese community supported alot of the KMT /ML gov't after 1911 and money/political support of China during WW2 which resulted in horrible massacres like the Sookching Massacre which targetted Chinese men 18-50 for killing and estimated 10-20 percent of SG's ethnic Chinese were killed.Gen Tomoyuki Yamashita really hated the Chinese after his experience fighting the resistance in North China-where he looted alot of gold from communities/brutal 3All campaign-and felt that the overseas Chinese were particularly responsible for supporting the resistance movement-and you're right many of the older generation with stronger ties to ML China and memories have died leaving many younger generation more susceptible to western antiChinese propaganda.Blood debt.
Sad. Visiting Sentosa island as a kid they had a memorial exhibit with the pictures of Sook Ching. This history was basically ignored in Canada (Canadian history in the Pacific war begins and ends with the capture of HK where a Canadian unit was sent). After seeing this, I found it really hard to stomach weebs beyond just the weird fetish aspect. Not too different from cheering Nazis.

You're forgetting how fast China changes as a society and a culture.
  • 30 years ago most Chinese still rode bikes and scooters.
  • 20 years ago China greatest technical achievement was sending Yang Liwei into orbit
  • 10 years ago China's combined automotive industry was smaller than Germany's
Now China's PPP is larger than the US, and contains over half of the entire world's industrial output with ~1/6th the population. What China experience in three decades other nations experience in a century. That's a lot of change for any society, nevermind one as large and old as China.
I find it interesting that you feel like the progress of China inspires more resentment than pride.

It’s interesting from other responses that there is no strong explanation for the animosity to China from Singaporeans. It would seem that these feelings perhaps have sublimated very subtly. I think feelings will adjust again in another 10 years as the people witness the new western reality.

Add: About the new western reality, Asians, I speak mostly from my experience mostly from HK, they have a very naive perception of the west. For example, they believe in all these political freedoms being so valuable when they don’t realize US/UK/Canada all have of criminal gangs of 14/15/16 year olds right now robbing and even killing, they and their handlers know the law is on their side, it’s totally fxxcked. Like you think criticizing the “CCP” is more important than basic safety? I also think they don’t realize how many real hardcore Nazis have come out of the woodwork in the last 10 years being super open about it.

And in case people think this is just anecdotal:

nobody wants to be surpassed or caught up to. it means that their sacrifices were in vain.

I'm OK with that. At this point I've come to accept the inevitability of massive global conflict because 1 side has declared that it will not coexist with the other. And so, when coexistence is impossible, diplomacy is also impossible.

Apprently the German colonial history in Qingdao also got white washed like Namibia and Tanzania because I learned that they burned down existing villages and that the rule was similar to that of Shanghai.

Believe me I and many others, thank Heaven China nation itself/historical memories haven't forgotten-
German schweinhunds(0-2) better not have ANY ambitions against China again-the German cruelties/atrocities in the 1899 Boxer Uprising is just as bad as the other nations

Me: Didn't I see this chick before? Yeah, she looks familiar. Where did I see her from.... Oh shit! She was in those videos-
Wife: What videos?
Me: What?! N-no nothing.
Wife: What videos was she in? Can I see?
Me: No nothing. I didn't say anything. I'm mistaken, wasn't her.
Wife: But what videos were you thinking about? What kinds of videos do you like to watch? We can open them up to confirm if it was or wasn't her.
Me: Let's drop this; this topic is stupid. Let's go get some ice cream, bubble tea, try that that Dongbei bbq you were talking about, whatever you fancy.
You should have said,"videos which I am told were watched by other men...informed me that she was a ..."- major tactical error friend.-now go buy some jewellery

Being a former British colony, Singapore's working language is English, and western propaganda is strongest in that language.

A chunk of Singapore's native ethnic Chinese are bananas - barely able to write their names in Chinese, hold all things Chinese in contempt, have the stupid notion that Hong Kong and Taiwan are not China (though they generally don't care about western propaganda on Xinjiang and Xizang), usually belong to a particular religion.
It’s sad but I think the most profound divide in this world right now is not east and west or north and south or ethnicities or even superficial geopolitical camps. It’s inside or outside of the GFW. This is the border between relative decency and pure brainrot (no matter “left” or right). So be ready for any country to turn against china and turn full neoliberal cuck mode any time.
This forum is like a fortress in the Warp to be honest.

(A rare footage shows) Chinese soldiers wrote their last words on paper, preparing for sacrifice, before fighting with Indians in Galwan Valley, 2020. If any of them died in the conflict, these letters will be sent to their parents/family.

One of these letters said:
Dear parents, sister, grandma, and relatives, friends,
If you read this letter, maybe I've already sacrificed. Don't feel sad for me, you need to control your emotions. As a soldier, I never regret taking this fight. I'm proud of being a PLA soldier. But what I can't let go of is you, my parents. I can't imagine your expression when receiving this letter. Thank you for raising me for 20 years. Forgive my unfilial. I can only show filial piety to you in my next life. Must take care of yourselves.
...
Right now, situation is critical, there can be no turning back. I'm at Galwan Valley, the border with India. I'll make Indians regret for their invasion.
I'm missing you very much, I don't fear death, but I fear you know the message that I die. I assure you, that I'll not disappoint you. As long as I can breathe, I'll not let Indians get into China a single step.
People will die in various ways, it can be an honour to die for the country. Take care of yourselves. Trust me, I'll come back alive to see you.
