China only cares about 1st and 2nd chain island and the pacific west. The only opponents in the pacific is a limited Philippine, US navy, limited Australia and Japan. I think China can take out all of them. Once Taiwan is captured, China has opened the gateway to the pacific west.

Philippine has no navy and all they can do is to launch missile provided by the US.

China should start acting like a world power and stop letting the rest of the shit on it whenever it can. China is barely an actor in global geopolitics right now; they have no allies or even do anything. Turkey and the west have been funding Uyghur separatists and China just did nothing, they been blasting anti-China propaganda around the globe and China did nothing, they been attacking Palestine for years now and China did nothing, China doesn't do anti-terrorism around the globe which even much smaller countries do, hell China didn't even do anything to stop the civil war in Myanmar in China's own back yard. China should take responsibility as a great power and do more stuff to help the world, not as a hegemon but a rational power.

What would any of that do to make the lives of the Chinese people better as a whole?

The responsibility of the Communist Party of China and the government of the People's Republic of China is to the people of China -- they are the ones who pay taxes and who put in sweat and effort that gives China the resources it has. Why should those precious resources go to outsiders who can't even help themselves? You control terrorism in your own borders by focusing on law and order and material conditions inside your borders, not by wasting money on foreign adventures thousands of kilometers away. That has worked extremely well.

Also, China gives plenty of aid and even more investment to the Global South. China just tends to stay out of the Middle East for good reason. China invests in places where Chinese investment is win-win. The Middle East tends to be lose-lose for everyone who tries, so China wisely doesn't try.

I honestly find the EITM very overrated in terms of actual power. Why are they in Syria murdering innocent people instead of being brave fighters back home in Xinjiang? Coz they don't have the capability to do so. Hell they can't even operate well in central Asia which is full of tough guys. They aren't like Chechens. They don't have any super special powers that make them any different from other guys who join isis.

As for the genocide stuff, imagine wasting billions on a huge campaign only to lose it to a bunch of vloggers who went to Xinjiang. At this point it is just a sunk cost.

There needs to be retaliation for supporting separatist cause. But the key is not to overreact and find the best way that will make them feel pain even if takes longer.

China should avoid getting entangled in the Middle East and instead focus on its own region. It should not repeat the same mistakes the US made. Generations of Chinese people have worked tirelessly to build the country into what it is today, and as you mentioned, the Chinese government's primary responsibility is to improve the lives of its citizens. I also disagree with the member who claimed that China cannot stand up to the West. If the West ever chooses to confront China, the nation’s immense wealth and population of over a billion would certainly enable it to defend its sphere of influence and kick US/EU out of Asia (for good).

Without major reforms to increase domestic consumption, China's economy will remain a export centered economy and guess who is the biggest buyer of Chinese products. Wars aren't purely just about guns, ships and planes but more about economics. Either China increase domestic consumption or start finding rich allies that will economically support China in a war. Preferably both

There's a reason I think why China doesn't get too close to Iran (unlike Pakistan). Iran seems to be run by totally incompetent leadership, egoists with no desire to change even after being hammered and clobbered multiple times. if you keep repeating the same mistakes time and again, and yet expect a different result, I believe doing a brain checkup is necessary.
Whereas Pakistan, even though extremely poor, seems to have a decent military chain of command and punches above it's weight when it comes to military confrontations. This is why i suspect Chinese leadership doesn't mind openly supporting Pakistan.

What makes you think the US will even need to close the Straits of Mallaca to deny China access to Middle Eastern oil. If they control those ME countries they can just make them not export oil to China in the first place.
