Chinese are not unforgiving and unreasonable. They can compete with the Indians for China's favor too. They have a bit more political debt to work off than the Indians. They can start by shining Indian shoes first, and they may get the privilege of doing the same for China in the distant future. This deal will not last long, the terms only get worse the longer they stay on the sinking ship.
I encourage them to do so and ignore poor China. The real competition with India is the US, in more ways than 1. Go Indians, show them your Brahmin skills.

Even India is mostly neutral towards China and more neutral than Vietnam. I am impressed. Indians might have a hard mouth but they have good instincts. They recognize it is not in their interest to get on China's bad side.
I predict India will be more pro China in 2026 than 2024.
